Evo 9 and Loans...
Whats up guys. I am clearly not new here, but I just have to rant about NADA's value on the Evo9. They are valuing the Evo9 at $25,000-$25,700. Is it just me, or is that just a ridiculous low Retail value?
I have been searching for an Evo9 the last couple weeks because I very much miss my old Evo8, and I figured I would step it up a notch & get the 9. But, with most banks only loaning up to NADAs value (I know some will do 120%), it is going to be impossible without cash down to get what dealers are asking now, of $27k-29k, and even as high as South Coast Mitsu, asking ridiculous prices for the MR models at $31-32k.
Just a big rant here, because retail value is not matching up with the opinionated bs value nada puts out. Doesnt look like im getting a 9!

If you shop around, you can find a good deal. I got my IX MR with 16k miles for $24k. It took a long time to wait and find it, but it came along.
And for some reason they're tough to find in Texas...I had to drive about 300 miles to get it.

Dealer prices are ridiculous and I prefer buying from the private seller, you end up getting a good deal that way.
Locally I saw an 05 EVO with70k miles at the dealer and I went there to check it out, they were asking $22000. I was not interested after I saw the miles. I though it wont sell at that high price but it was gone in 3 days .

If you arent concerned about a warranty (that you'll void anyway) then buy private. I paid 28 for my IX from the dealership and it only had 4k miles. I've only had 1 small issue with my car and the warranty took care of it with no problem.
I looked for mine for almost 2 years, found it by chance while I was in Iraq. I put a down payment on it so the dealership wouldn't sell it and sent my father the power of attorney to get the car for my in my name. I paid 30k for my IX MR with less than 2k miles and it was totally stock. I still think I got a great deal.
Don't give up the hunt man. Screw NADA, they lowball anything that's an import.

That is all good then. The market value or actual value of the car is higher than what the bank want you to loan it with.

I parted with my 8 to buy a Vette, and after about a week of owning the vette, I liked my Evo alot more. My evo was my favorite car, even though this vette is like 10x cleaner. I rather just sell the Vette and get what makes me happy. More practical anyway, especially since its my daily and we have snow in the winter.
