1500 off MSRP Good Deal?
Well for the last few months I've been set on buying a WRX as my next car. Circumstances have changed however, and I now have a bigger budget to use on my next car purchase.
I took a trip to the local Mitsu dealer, planning to look at the EVO. I really liked it and was about to buy it, but I couldn't buy the car today because I need the rest of my family to see the car too before I buy it.
The dealer gave me a smoking deal, but I had to pass up on it. $1500 off MSRP, $501/month over 60 months. I'm going back Monday and most probably will buy it.
I know I won't get the same deal, but I got the dealer to agree to $1000 off MSRP. They were giving me some **** on a special incentive that ended today that would get me $500 more off MSRP. Think I could still get it for $1500 off on Monday? More importantly, should I forget the EVO and get an STI? Or maybe a used M3?
Confused and thanking his lucky stars,
-Zoeb

You'll still get the deal. Just tell the guy you want the same deal or you're out of there. BTW, 1500 off is a good deal. As far as a used M3 goes, if something breaks, the money you spend on fixing it would have paid for enough mods on the Evo to smack an M3 (speaking from experience).

The only problem with the particular car I want is that it's been test driven before. It had 120 miles when I test drove it. I'm going to try to use that against the dealer to get it for $1500 off on Monday.
About beating the M3, the EVO can easily beat the M3 from a performance standpoint, but the M3 performs like it does while still maintaining a luxury feel. Not like I need the luxury anyway, but my family wants me to get a semi-luxurious car that can carry atleast 4 around. The EVO, STI, and M3 are the only cars that really stick out in my mind as posessing those qualities. Cars like the 350Z, G35c, and RX8 aren't even close.

Im sure you could milk more out of them, if they can offer $1500 off MSRP their probably getting some sort of bonus or kickback from Mitsubishi to sell the car ASAP, Id tell them the deal isnt good enough, but leave your contact information open so they can call you again for a lower price.
Have them throw in a PitPass or extended service contract to offset the mileage. Tell them that will make you more comfortable with the purchase. They'll do it since they know the mileage will scare off most buyers.

I wound up with 29,100 on a sticker of 30,812. I pay 477 a month, 2500 down for 72 months...6% interest. 501 for 60 months, no money down? Something sounds odd, honestly.
1. don't buy an evo with that many miles unless you get the 1500 off AT THE VERY LEAST
2. triple check all the numbers before signing anything
3. if those 2 work out, BUY IT!

(i don't know where you are located)
but you can do better than $1500 off MSRP
especially with a car w/ that many miles
look for an invoice deal, $26,892 (no options)
AND an extended warranty or a pit pass

Not sure what city you live in. But i will sell you an evo for $300 over inv. I have 2 of them, one blue and one black both with moonroof and the small spoiler. Call me Rudy 909-735-7100 in the fleet department. Mention Evoultionn.net. These are the only 2 i am selling at that price. Because this is all i have.
Does it have any options and what is the color?
You should definitely get better than $1500 off for that car with those miles. The dealer was lying to you about the "special incentive" that would expire. Don't negotiate down from MSRP anyway; you should state the invoice and give them an offer that you think is fair. Try for $300-$500 above invoice.
