rpm drop????

okay so i was driving around the other day and floored the car in 2nd gear and the rpms dropped from 4500k to around 3700k or so and then continued to pull hard all the way to redline...and it did it again in 5th gear at 5000k and dropped to 4500k

anyone know what this might be? and im not tuned either, which isnt a thing lol i've only had the 10.5 hotside, o2 housing, and exhaust mani for about 3 weeks and everything else has been on for awhile so idk if its from the newer mods or what

You could be leaking some boost. Re-tighten and check all your clamps.

How do you like your meagan headder????

I would never floor the car until I'm tuned. It's not worth to have some fun then blow your engine. You'll have to log the car using evoscan or have your tuner look at it when it comes time.

the header is good...and i forgot to add that i do have a bad butterfly valve on the throttle body...i had a boost leak test done a few weeks ago and it showed up leaking but idk if that would cause the car to drop like that and then pull hard again

the battery is good and tight but theres no signs of it loosing battery power just a drop in power real quick so hmm????

Your RPMs aren't going down - they're shooting up and then falling back down when the clutch grabs.

Clutch is slipping.

Well, any slipping clutch has a point in time at which it starts. You should go test it just to be sure. Get in 5th at 2500rpm and floor it. If the rpms jump up right when boost builds without you accelerating hard, then the rpms drop back down and you accelerate normally, then you know the clutch is slipping. It will happen worse in higher gears.

Clutches are wear items - they are not covered unless it's a manufacturer's defect, which can only be claimed within the first 12k miles. Even within that time, if they see mods or any hot spots on the flywheel, it won't be covered. It has to be something physically wrong with the clutch assembly. You are way beyond that stage.
