Clicking/shaking after a long drive

I'm hoping someone here can diagnose my problem. I tried the search and didn't come up with anything conclusive. Here's the issue:

After long drives, particularly after being on the highway for a while, I get a clicking/mild shaking of the car at low speed turns. If I'm turning while not in gear, it doesn't happen, only when in gear and especially when accelerating out of a turn. It also doesn't happen during short drives or when the car is cold. What do you all think it is? T-case? Axels? CV Boot? Fluid issue?

2003 Evo - 53K miles - stock except for TBE and intake

Thanks for the help.

I would tend to say CV joint but that wouldnt explain why it only happens in gear. Possibly a TC issue

I hope not, but I'm afraid you may be correct. Would changing out the fluid make any difference?

Does it do it when turning in both directions.

It could also possibly be a strut bearing, when they fail it can sound like a bad CV joint but only when turning in one direction.

My 2003 was doing the same thing at about 35,000 miles, and I thought TC and CV joint diff, etc. as well.

Mine only did it in it when warm in slow left hand turns that were hard enough to really shift weight to the right strut which had the problem.

I ended up putting a used set of MR Bilsteins on mine and the problem went away.
