scary moment in my evo
So im getting off of work and theres this road i like to open it up on. I pull hard in second then third soon as i shift into fouth i hear a pop noise and see a flash of light. im like ohh thats not good.
I manage to coast to the next light. i put it in first and soon as i hit 3k rpm it drops back down to 0 i shift though all the gears and im going about 20 in 5th. Soon as i get to the closest parking lot im thinking i blew something, and its gonna cost a few grand to fix. Or mabey a spark plug went bad.
So i open the hood and look around everything seems to be intact. the IC piping is on from what it looks like in the front. so i check underneath and the pipe came off under the car. I guess there was soo much presure it flew off and hit the pavement and make a huge spark. So now im in the market of a new tbolt clamp i hear they are the best anyone have any sugestions?

This happens quite a bit, unfortunately with a MAF car, it turns it into a big problem.
The best setup to have is T-bolt clamps and intercooler piping that is beaded at the end to help eliminate slipping in the coupler.
When installing the piping, make sure that they are clean and dry. If you have a tough time getting it in dry, try hair spray. It will make is slick enough to slide in, then get sticky and help hold the pipe in place.
Done right, you should never have a pipe come loose again.
Thanks,
Travis

As soon as I read the title, I was like I/C piping came off... sure enough as I have done before, this was the case.
Folks, INVEST IN BETTER IC PIPING ESPECIALLY IF YOU UP THE BOOST!!
