Question Purchasing a new VIII please advise

Well it has been a year since I traded the IX in for a Saab and I could only stray away from the Evolution game for a year. I am looking to get back into the game. I found a 2004 VIII for $23,250 locally. Here is what is done to it:

Custom DP w/3in cat delete and HKS exhaust
Turbo XS Intercooler
No name Flywheel and Stage 2 Clutch
1in lowered
HKS Blow off Valve
White Rabbit Turbo
Perrin 750cc injectors w/fuel rail (unsure if fuel pump is upgraded but would assume since this ran 30 psi)
Greddy Turbo Timer
Smaller battery
Open box air filter
Data cable hooked up in the glove compartment
Has been tuned to run 30 lbs on 100 oct... but currently running 20 off 93oct
34,600 miles

Other features that are stock to the vehicle of course is the sound package, leather and HID's. No body kit or after market rims. It also has a sunroof.

I took it for a day and had a boost and compression test run on the motor. Got 175 for each cylinder, and no boost leak showed up. Although, one cylinder on the first test came out with a 120... After a test drive we re-tested and it came out to be 175 like the rest.

The tune is strong. Doesn't cut out at any RPM and the drivability is as good as my stock IX was. Despite the 4-6 mpg in fuel economy . Did a few 40 to 140 pulls and it got there quicker then I ever remember. Did four launches as well and chirped the tires once. Didn't bog it once, which shocked me since I hadn't driven one in a year. Clutch seems strong as well as i did a 30 mph pull in 5th and it didn't spin. Transmission doesn't grind into any gear, whether driving normal or speed shifting. Brakes are in good condition, at least 10k left on the front.

If anyone has Carfax and could run a vehicle report for me that would be great as well. Please let me know if this is a good deal at what the price is, or if i should pass and wait for another one down the road. Thanks everyone

lol ... Unbelievable that the first person to reply is from my Hometown away from home. I went to SDSU. But to answer the question there are no stock parts included. I get only what I mentioned above. Thanks for the input I was thinking the same thing.

I would be very weary of a car with those mods, and has been run to 30psi. Of course that's just me personally, but I wouldn't want to get a car that has been beaten on. How many previous owners? Who installed the parts - a reputable shop, or some kids in their driveway?

I picked up my VIII for ~$2,000 less dollars, and 10,000 less miles on the clock, with minor upgrades. I'd much rather buy in total confidence than worry about what other little things might happen to the car from previous owners.

Are you looking to get a modded Evo? I personally was not - the closer to stock, the better.

I used to only want base as well (do to the beat on theory) but this one is a clean install. No broken or missing bolts. No bent body parts or engine bay components. It looks like a well taken care of Evo, and doesn't look like a back yard job. Not sure of the shop though. I was weary of the 30 psi as well, but like I said we ran a compression test and it came out with stellar results showing the motor wasn't hurt. As far as how many owners I am not sure, that is why I was seeing if anyone has access to Car Fax to get me a report. It says it found 14 records, but not sure what those 14 records are. I was going to ask the dealer, but they are closed on Sunday's here in Indiana. Thanks for your input greatly appreciated.

I would haggle on the price personally. I got my '03 with cams, exhaust, injecectors, MBC, Walbro, and 10,000 less miles for $24k.

EDIT: this price was paid at a dealership too.

Not too bad of a deal try to talk the price down a little. Does the owner have receipts of the installed parts and installation prices. O and also maintainence records. that always comes into play with a modified car.

What if the guy did everything hisself? just look at the over all condition of the car and if he said all was done and the clean looks clean. I wouldnt have a hard time trusting him.

why not try to find a IX ... for that price it seems like you could. I personally wouldn't buy one that had been modded like that, which is the very reason my mods will consist of air flow only... TBE, maybe an intake or drop in filter and an intercooler pipe kit and tune, that will help get a little extra power and better mileage which is just what I am looking for, but to each his own.
