So why is it that for 5 years (since the Evo VIII was released in the US) no one came out with these, and just now all of a sudden everyone is coming out with them?

It's the new "flavor of the week" like Lower IC pipes were at one point.

dsms were doing it a long time ago, i helped a buddy of mine install his on his 1st gen. pretty mean sounding

We're going to be jumping on the dyno and heading back to the track shortly. I will keep everyone posted as soon as I have the information ready.

UPDATE

Well I was on my way to the E-town STI vs EVO shootout with the QTP O2 Dump on the car to compete with but it started pouring rain on the ride down and the event was cancelled.

I'm not going to gas everyone up with a huge post, but DAMN this thing worked wonders on the dyno! I'll be updating this thread with the dyno printouts once I can find a way to get them scanned. Also, I've encountered no knock problems with this piece at boost levels of 30psi on the stock turbo and upgraded WGA.
