dealership question

hey guys i have a quick question

my evo ix mr has the ams full turbo back with the test pipe, k & n intake and a few other mods... my check engine light is on because of the test pipe... i usually get my oil changed at the mitsu dealer by my house.. this will be my first oil change since my mods. will they do anything because of the check engine light or the test pipe (fumes)? is there anything i should be worried about???

input needed! thanks guys

I would be cautious, just because I have heard of Mitsu dealers documenting things and then when something comes up throwing it out there as the reason why they won't hold up your warranty. This is definatly a worst case scenario. I could also see them bringing it in, doing it and never saying a thing... it is your car after all. To be safe I would avoid it, but maybe someone with more experience will chime in.

I work over there and just asked the service manager if they would flag the car. He said that he would not do that at all. As the car sits, if you just do an oil change, there will be no problem.

*********CAUTION***********
by FEDERAL LAW, they have to turn you into the EPA (environmental protection agency) due to removing the emmisions device.

I would put the cat back on if I were you or you could get a HUGE fine, like $2,000 or more.

They COULD, but don't HAVE to.

yeah...I traded my MS3 in with no 2nd cat (it was in the trunk at the time) and I'm not any poorer.
I think its a crime to sell or remove them...but once removed, the law can not show that the one driving car is liable.....you should be fine-but they mat charge you to re set the CEL (since the mod is causing it). As for an oil change....I'd start doing them at home if you go any further with the mods....imo

That's what he told me. Warranty work is a different story, though. I just had my car serviced here for all fluid changes (trans, all diffs, oil) and the only thing that they would not do is warranty my a/c because of the i/c pipes. Car was NOT flagged. A check engine light is a check engine light, no big deal. I would put the exhaust back on if you do need WARRANTY work done.

I'm sure if a police officer stops you he has to report it as well as emissions testing, but not a service dept. That is what I'm told here, just re-confirmed it.
