most factory paints do not have a clear coat. they are called single phase coats. anyhow. not safe on your car. get a better insurance company or have it re-evaluated by a claims agent with some brains.

Are you F'ing serious!!?? How retarded is your insurance company, might as well just use brake fluid. The chemicals used to dissolve paint is not worth trying.

Have a professional body shop decide what matters need to be taken to restore your vehicle back to proper condition, not a retarded insurance company.

What color is your car?

What is the extent of the spray paint?

Or better yet, post a picture.

Try using a "Magic Eraser" in an inconspicuous area.

paint thinner/mineral spirits is safe to use on small areas that are clear coated- this is basically what a lot of bug and tar removers contain. Today's clear coats and urethane paints are chemical resistant. I would not use lacquer thinner- paint thinner and lacquer thinner are two different products. I would think the car should go to a detail or body shop where I'd imagine they'd try a clay bar first.

I dont know why you guys are telling him how to do it. You pay for an insurance policy to cover mishaps like this. They need to take the responsibility of paying for the damages if it is covered under the policy. This is why I deal why GEICO, they pay for the damages no questions asked.

My insurance is with Progressive. I really have no idea why they're taking forever to deal with this. First, they said that it's totaled, now they're saying that it's going to be fixed. I really have no idea.

But if you want to know the extent of the damages, take a look at this thread. Just scroll down and you'll see the pictures.

They also got the rims and brake calipers as well.

Take your policy out and make sure you have coverage for vandalism, or similar terms. THen call them and ask why they're talk to them. If they give you the run-around, ask for a manager. Be nice, these people are human like you and I. Be firm, and tell them you would like this settled quickly.
