Is this right..Boost Question
hey guys i got a question for you...maybe im just paranoid but here goes....i installed my ams fmic over the weekend and i decided to do some pulls to test it out, while watching my mitsu boost gauge.....i have an evo ix mr.....when i was in 5th gear going about 50 mph about 2800rpm, i mashed it watching the boost hit 1.4 bar, which is normal....however, when i downshifted to 3rd around 50mph about 4500rpm and mashed it, it only went to like 1.1-1.2 bar. is this because of where i was rpm wise? each pull was taken to 7000pm...also, would a larger fmic and just a catback cause knock or any other problems if they are not tuned?

It's normal to boost a little lower in higher rpm/lower gear and higher in higher gears because the load is greater in 5th gear/lower rpm. In fact, it will probably make the most boost flooring it in 5th gear. I wouldn't worry about knock with your car but if you're worried about it, get tuned.
