2003 or 2004

I'm planning to buy an evo in the next 4-6 months. Do you think I should wait for the 2004's to come out or just buy a 2003 when i'm ready to buy? Thanks in advance

if i remember correctly, the USDM Evolution VIII is a "limited production" vehicle, meaning it isn't released every year such as a ford taurus or a toyota camry. I believe mitsu only made and shipped ~6500 of em over here. With that said, you'll probably be getting one of the 2003's, unless ya wait for Mitsu to come out with the e9.

Check out the 2004 thread. It looks like the EVO will be produced next year, and this year's numbers will likely exceed Mitsu's initial production numbers, judging by a few people who work with them.

Actually it was a "limited release" not production. That means next year the number of Evos available should be higher. However if Mitsu can't get this year's Evos off the lot then who knows how many will be shipped next year.

Don't wait. Take the advantages of low interest rate and sloppy economy. Your bargain power is much more higher/better. You should be able to get a car without paying more than MSRP.

In additional, there are many dealers with Evo still hanging on the lot. I'm sure they want to get rid of it ASAP.

If the '03 and '04 are exactly the same, then you should definitely get an '03. Dealers want '03 off their lots before the '04 arrives, and that's more bargaining power to you. Banks have ridiculously low interest rates, but are slowly climbing. Also in terms of mileage, buying an '03 late in the year will make your mileage sound better. Example, next summer I can say I have an 03 EVo with 12K miles when my buddy in his 04 STI has 10K.
