Wideband

Do only self-tuners have widebands? When is the right time to get a wideband? I know the main use is to view A/F ratios, which helps tuning. What other reason is there for me to get one?

Also, I know people recommend Zeitronix. What makes them better than AEM or Innovate XD-16 & LC1 Wideband?

Besides getting a O2 sensor bung on the downpipe, is there anything else I would need to modify for the installation? Is there any wire splicing needed for the ECU?

I know the AEM comes plug and play. We didn't really need to conduct any major surgery besides drilling thru the firewall.

I have an innovate lm-1 and love it. I had a aem box type and it was great to use with my aem main engine box but the sensor you can only get through aem and was kinda expensive. I know the aem gauge do not show below 11.1 afp unles they changed it recently.

so AEM is easy to install.
can anyone comment on Zeitronix? i heard they were easy too and is the best. i just want to know why i would choose one brand over another. i think AEM is the cheapest too, which is good.

I don't self tune, but I always go to shops that will let me get some hands on so I can visually see whats happening and better understand my car. The AEM does not show below 11, but they aren't too expensive. I believe mine was about 250 shipped. But there are cheaper ones out there

AEM is nice
its always good to be able to monitor your A/F ratio
id recommend it

for the AEM, all you need to do is wire in a power and a ground, run the sensor to the DP and your done. you dont need to drill any holes in the firewall theres a few spots you can use

I bought my wideband when I got my cams....Anytime you have mods and a tune its good to have one cuz you can see if your running lean or rich @ WOT

and they look really cool.

AEM does show below 11
it wont show below 10.0, but at that point why do you even care if you A/F is lower then that. if it even hits 10.0 you know something is not right

that's very useful info. thank you.

i assume this means you cannot log data, unlike Zeitronix
