Road raged Chevy VS Evo VIII
I had some guy in a jeep this morning following on tail and would not back off. I was tired (just got off a 12 hour midnight shift) and there was standing water all over the road which was like driving on a lasagna noodle. Driving these roads is like pushing a Wal-Mart shopping cart. Needless to say I was spending enough time trying to stay out of hydroplane and this jeep just stayed glued to me. I would slow down he would slow down, I would speed up a little so would he. If I had gone into a spin his jeep would have been breeding my Evo. It was a very long drive home this morning. The road is a rural road that is often traveled by 18 wheelers as well as farm equipment that with the standing water made the Evo feel sort of sloppy.
As for this guy he sounds like life has caused him to have a few screws loose. If my son were in my car and some fool hit my like that I would have to seek revenge. I would probably be in jail for a long time with a felony if it were to happen. Glad to hear everyone is Okay though, and sorry to hear about the Evo.
On a side note he will most likely get a sentence of 1-2 years of which he will spend a maximum 3-4 months in a country jail. Followed by 2-3 years of probation and a suspended license until he completes a safe driving course as well as maybe an anger management course.
With a very good prosecuting attorney though he could end up being charged with two counts of assault, reckless endangerment, leaving the scene, and following too closely. Plus I am sure there could be other charges brought up as well.

Unfricking believable. It makes a person think what is going through their head when they are doing these kind of insane actions. I honestly don't know what I would have done in that situation. I probably would have been in shock from that dumba$$ continuing to mash the gas pedal as he was ramming into me.
By the way I used to live in Chandler (graduated from Dobson HS) and my sister is a police detective in Tempe. Let me know if you need any assistance.

Hey Guys,
Yesterday after work here at Vivid, my cousin picks me up in his 2003 mint white Evo. His evo is 95% stock and still under Mitsu warranty! We were on our way to my house when we noticed behind us was a white 2004-2005 Chevy 2 door pickup following really close. About a hundred yards away is a red light so my cousin starts to engine brake.
We were going 35MPH and we notice this guy come very close then backs off then out of the blue, floors it and rams us! As he hit us he kept his truck floored and all you could see is smoke from his tires as he kept the gas pinned. I looked back to see his face so I could later ID him, and he was grinning ear to ear like he was happy to be doing it!
After about 10 seconds he then backs up and then went around us speeding away. While he was smoking his tires plowing into us I was already dialing 911, and I read the plate to my cousin and the police as he sped away. We then waited for the police to come and take our story down and take pics.
The police said others called in and reported the same thing as well as his plates! Also that the guy lived very close and that they would try to arrest him. They said they will call if they get any thing. Later last night around 10:45 we get a call stating the police had him in custody and he will be going to jail to stand trial.
I just cant believe somebody would do this, he reminded me of the Joker from the new Batman, just crazy!
As for the evo... well not too good, at least another Evo wing has survived!
Sorry for the cell pics but at the time it was all I have.
Needless to say we are going to the chiropracter, and talking to a lawyer.
Im glad it wasnt my Evo, but still very upset about it.
For locals: This was heading south on Arizona Ave right before Warner. Here in Chandler. (about 2 min from Vivid)
Thanks for looking and support from friends!

That's freaking crazy. The worst part is he'll probably get probation and keep his license.

It seemed as if he was trying to push us into the intersection or into other cars. He didnt know how good Evo brembos work!!!
So he gave up and ran away.
He might not have money but his insurance does.

I had something similar happen to me on the freeway in my old car about 8 years ago. The guy for whatever reason starts to try and side swipe my car. He than slowed down and than rammed my car. I tried to call 911 but it was busy. Thankfully my car had a little bit of power so I took off. I eventually flagged down a sherrif. Unfortunately since there was no damage to my car and no witnesses the sherrif could not arrest the idiot. He did give him an earful so I guess its better than nothing. Glad to hear this jackass got caught.
