Don't have one, but I can guarantee 99% of the replies will be a Valentine One. It's the best radar detector on the market.

VALENTINE 1

VALENTINE 1 RADAR $399. PRETTY EXPENSIVE, BUT CAN BE UPGRADED TO LATEST TECHNOLOGY.

Valentine 1. It's expensive but if it saves your *** 4 times, it's paid for itself. Think of it as a life time purchase. I've had mine for 4 years and it's saved me countless times. I have received one lazer ticket...the V1 went off but I was the target. There isn't much that can save you from lazer.

I've have been using a V1 for about a year, it has saved my *** about 50 times over. It has easily payed for itself. I used to worry about speed traps on the way to work, now I get at least a minute to change speeds and wave at the cop as I pass by. I wouldn't drive in a car without one now.

I have the 8500. It is the best detector I have ever owned. Always see the cops way ahead of time. Many times I have picked up a cop who is facing the same way I am going and sitting behind some sort of block and can still pick him up with more than enough time to slow down. Plus it has the ability to show you up to eight different signals at once which can be very helpful near speed traps and speed signs.

The biggest advantage of the V1 over the competition is the boggy counter and the direction indicator. It's really nice knowing the direction of the threat so you know where to look and when the threat has been passed.

Also, I've been through speed traps near grocery stores that set off a false alarm normally but when the trap was set I picked up not only the grocery store but a second signal as well.

Until the competition has directional indicators and boggy counters they aren't even worth looking at. The V1 has plenty of range to give you a mile or more to adjust your speed before the cop is in range. The others might have better range (maybe) or less false alarms but knowing the direction is that good IMO.

With one of the Escort models they will supposedly reimburse you for any speeding tickets that you get. I've heard good things about it and it goes for about 299.00

I don't but the V1 hype. Passport 8500 is by far the most advanced radar detector on the market.
