Nobody is disputing the fact that Vishnu produces good products, it's their constant OBVIOUS attack on WORKS that is creating any animosity. No matter how hard Shiv has tried to discredit WORKS their customer base on this website continues to grow because just like David said their products are better advertised by their customers who have all been extatic about the product and service that they have recieved. I'm just stating the obvious, not trying to make waves, but for those of you who really don't believe that this was aimed at hurting WORKS and promoting the Xede then Shiv has successfully fooled you.
Respectfully,

Probably the main reason why I respect Shiv is.... because of his honesty.
Even the best engineers in the world at whatever they do...will ALWAYS run into issues. It doesn't matter who you are.
Shiv IMO, has always tried to be as straight forward as possible and does a great job in my mind of keeping everyone up to date on his on-going products. Even reading about his plug-in harness issue which delayed orders of the updated xede...only added to my confidence of the Vishnu product line.
He easily could have made up some lame excuse without going into any technical details...but he chose not to. Its this type of attitude which will win over my business. I personally do not enjoy being left in the dark.
I think Shiv may possibly have come across as being a bit malicous when he made a claim that "most" ECU re-flashes on the market could possibly have been affected with the glitch. Although...he still did nothing wrong. He mentioned no names in particular.
I'm personally intersted in the Vishnu reflash. I believe Vishnu will post and stamp all the A/F ratio's, boost curves, torque curves, hp...you name it and answer any questions we have about the product. (at least I hope so!)

I would submit that anyone who thinks that any posts made by Shiv in this thread are an obvious attack on anyone is displaying an obvious bias.

Well if you've followed the "WORKS-Vishnu" rivalry then you'd know that this isn't the first time Shiv has done this. Do a search and you will see that Shiv has even intruded on WORKS very own forum where they never dog-out or even discuss anyone elses product. Shiv is a business man trying to make money, I just find some of his marketing strategies to be unethical. Like I stated before, if you think that he was being honest, caring and sincere then his mission is accomplished. I have not attacked Shiv's products, I'm just commenting on his ability to manipulate situations to potentially hurt other vendors and help himself all at the same time. Quite frankly I find his tactics humerous and he should be proud of himself because they seem to be working with at least a few people. No conspiracy theory here, just shady business practices...
Respectfully,
D

People, can we PLEASE drop the drama and let this thread become what it was supposed to be? An update on the Vishnu reflash. I hear Vishnu is taking pre-orders and would love to know what the cost for a reflash will be.

If you call that unethical or manipulative, then I don't have much else to discuss with you.
I think people are confusing the difference in a "good guy" and "bad business". This forum is littered with both accounts in Shiv's case. It seems he really takes care of his products and customer base. "Good guy", "good business". I'm not one of his customers, but might have been if he would have been the first to offer a reflash, as that is what I wanted for my car. The "bad business" comes in with long-winded threads full of you and more of it crap, and you said I said, and I said you said ****. Works was guilty here as well. David shut up. This thread would do nothing but throw a bad spin on Shiv's main competition to the informed customer. So for those who would claim no foul, come now, it would be insulting to yourself as well as all forum members to say that we would not come to that possible conclusion. It would be one of little cunning and a weak mind to simply take this completely as a public service announcement with the history here in. I give Shiv more credit than to haphazardly cause a small panic with the competitions current, and possible customers. As I so eloquently stated, "David shut up". When it comes to their rivalry, I hope Shiv sees David's late arriving genius in this and stopping before it's too late... to save his reputation with those who are as interested in the good character of our vendors as their products. In the end, one will speak for the other.

Then works jumps and starts saying to there customers that they don't have to worry. That's fine works said in many posts that they have there owen why of re-flashing and not the way of what everyone else is using. (or what every company that offers it to tuners).
But I will say this I found it very hard to believe that works was able to design there owen system.
Anyone doing EM should varify any system they buy. A/F and knock and data logging. I mean you just spent 30K on your rides and now even more to make more power double check everything.
Yes I like Shiv alot I really think he is the best in the bizz. So you may say I'm a loyalist but I'm just sitting back and giving a very unbiased out look about this topic.
IMHO
Eric
This thread is shut down till I can clean this dump.
EDIT:
Alright, I'm giving this thread another chance. Now I hope this thread remains civil. I have gone through this thread and have deleted about 30 posts, mostly unneeded ones. If it continues, then this thread WILL permanently be shut down. This thread is now re-opened.

Shiv, I still don't understand why you are going to offer a reflash. Since there's now a plug & play harness for the Xede, why would one choose the reflash over the Xede? Is there any other reason than (presumably) lower cost of the reflash?
