Is it risky to buy an EVO that was a lemon at one time for brakes?
SE isn't "extraordinary" package. It has different color BBS rather then stock enkeis, Aluminum roof, slightly different front lip, HID, and red stitching on the seats. It is nice package, but I wouldn't choose the car JUST because it's a SE...
But then again it's low mileage and sounds like there aren't many you can choose from...
my 2 cents

Does anyone even know what the complaint was with the brakes? Its a risk any time you buy a used car. I say buy it. The price is right, mileage is right, and its obviously the car u want. Do you think that a dealership would even consider selling a car with a safety issue like that? If they didnt absolutely solve the issue they wouldve washed their hands of it and sent it to an auction
the original owner probably was warping the rotors from lack of knowing how to brake. probably kept resurfacing and eventually replaced. either that or it was noise. the dealer should have a service history in their system if it was indeed fixed at a dealership. i work at saturn (lol) and even if the vehicle was serviced in new york, we can check the entire service history in california. only dealer serviced cars however. we can't check if it was at jiffy lube or the like. good luck.
