Burnt clutch does not take days to clear up.
My friend was doing burnouts in his camaro burning up his clutch to butter and the smell went away after 10 minutes.

Id say your exhaust is hitting something

Not necessarily true... my buddy lauched the hell out of his car and the smell just lingered for a few days.

I would check to see if your downpipe is getting to close to something, maybe the heat from the dp is causing something to melt/burn and smell, also check to make sure that nothing is under there, one time I ran over a pair of nylon shorts on the interstate and it nearly caught fire on my exhaust, smoked a bunch, scarred the crap out of me till I saw what it was and smelled horrible

I had something like this happen to me before. It turned out to be a plastic bag from Kroger/Wal-Mart was stuck to my cat. Those things are so thin that as soon as they touch your exhaust they melt and wrap around your exhaust. They will stink for a few days until you either scrape it off or they burn all the way up. Just take a look, it's worth a shot.

Make sure you check your battery cable and connections. When I burnt up my battery cable, it gave of the most disgusting smell I've came across in a long time. Goodluck!

New exhaust or clutch would be my guess.
