can anyone with exact formulas/calculations post up how much the speedo's gonna be off if you switch 17s to 18s, and if theres a way to adjust the speedo to correct it?

well i've had the evo for six months now and i got use to its looks so thats why i want to change the look of it by having 18's, 17's are to small for the bigger evo. and about drifting i think the car will drift more with less of a tyre wall, thats the fun part, and also the evo7 comes with advan 235/45/17 that are street slicks. So, you'll get the looks plus more drifting, thumbup:

guys the evo7 rs2 is for road use only and you can't fit any wheel that is smaller than a 17 because you have the huge brembo brakes if your thinking of a rally edition you should get the evo7 rs that comes with manual windows and shorter ratios and steel wheels cheaper too. capeeesh..

question for EVO owners

Mr EVO and Crusty Dusty I have a question for you two. Being EVO owners you would know this better than anyone, how harsh is the ride in the EVO VII?

Can you offer me some sort of car to compare it to?
Is it as stiff as an 3rd gen RX-7 r1 or more like an Integra GSR?

I would really like your perspective since every article I have read, the journalist never seem to fail to mention how harsh the ride is.

Thanks,
EJ

Never been in an RX-7... in terms of ride quality the closest I can think of is a BMW X5 without the leather and just a wee bit harder damping. But when you're going >100 mph you'll come to appreciate the suspension setup as it is pretty good... you don't get the sense that you're about to fly off the road for instance.

well its a rougher ride than an rx7 r1, yes. but when you get use to it the normal cars would be kind odd.

Isn't the RSII stiffer than a GSR?

The speedo wont be off if you do a true Plus size upsize. In other words, make sure the overall height of the 18" tire is the same as the one you are replacing. The overall height number is available from the tire manufactures.

It may not be a VII, but it's got 18's on it and in my opinion, this is one the singular most beautiful Evos on the planet! Plus, the Superleggeras are veeery lightweight. Let those Brembos shine on through!
Well thanks.................

I know that in us you nare used to soft dampers but If you like an evo vii don't worry the standard suspenion are not hard at all!!!

It will feel the same of a porsche gt3, a bmw m3, an honda integra type r or something!
And if you think that it's too hard just buy a set of springs as eibach or custom, and for two hundred $ it will be softer and lower!

And about wrc, they all have 18 in tarmac!
