Hello guys,

Latest news about Sti
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...postid=4498035

Do you think we can compete against the Sti once it gets modded?

Wilson

we'll see what happens but we need an 11 second evo or quicker here in cali since vishnu is here in the bay area and there's a few sti's runnin around.but who said that evo loses,we dont,we go to an EVOLUTION and go faster.so dont count the chickens yet.

I will still subscribe to the phrase: "Evo is better than STi."

Well if you look at it... The STI is "Evolving"... It's a wannabe EVO... They go from the 2.0 to the 2.5!

The funny thing is that HP does not come into play in this scenario. Stock EVOs and STis have comparable track times with a difference of 30HP. I'll take my Mitsubishi Athlon over a Subaru Pentium 4 any day! Damn a dyno, show us some real numbers!

*cough* dyno-queen. *cough*

anyways, the US STi isn't a real WRC class car anyways since they decided to deviate from the maximum 2.0L specification. It's a cool car, I like em, but I chose the Evo over the STi for my own personal trivial reasons - not because I thought I'd be able to get a higher dyno number than its competitors.

If you want a real dyno queen, get a TT supra. Of course, you'd be at 600hp and still running 12's

EVO's and STI's are both great cars....i like them both...i just chose an EVO if i could get both I would. STI is faster EVO handles better...i am more about handling...if i was more about straightline fast then i would have gotten an STI....its that simple

The STi is not a dyno queen. It's power is extremely useable. The 6 speed does hurt drag strip performance a bit since you have to shift 5 times by the end of the 1/4 mile. The Stage 1 STI we just finished is incredibly quick on the street with loads of torque throughout the midrange-- where it's most useful. That's the advantage of having another .5L to play around with. FWIW, in a 1st gear roll on, it can spin all four tires With a 4000rpm clutch dump, it will keep all four tires spinning across the intersection. On 91 octane pump gas and in 100 deg. ambient temps.

Cheers
shiv

Nice results. Could you post a evo stage 1 curve with a STi stage 1 preliminary curve? Interesting to see
