good luck with the dealerships...you'll normally know right away if they are going to help you or jerk you around, but whichever the case, dont ever let a mitsu dealer that's acting shady touch your car. It's only grounds for them to screw you out of money and most likely your remaining warrenty if they blacklist your car on their service report.

Don't forget Carlsbad. There's a total of four in SD county. El Cajon is better with service work, but not sales.

That sucks, please update this thread how it turns out. Because we all, evo owners, might face this same issue. Good Luck!

Thats sucks... but it's just the begining... I have a 10 times worse story that lasted about 3 months with them.

Short version:

I bought a IX MR with 16,000 miles on it and within 400 miles this happened:

-2 New T-cases(They ****ed em up)
-2 Trans Rebuilds(They have no idea what the **** their doing)
-Went back to them in month 3 with the same problems with the car
-Told me it wasn't warrantied because they had information that i had been street racing on public roads, and my brother had an STI and we just go out and street race.(My Brother does not have an STI and Even if it was true that we were racin, which it wasn't, then they couldn't prove it)
-I ended up having to buy a new transmission.
-I have now owned the car for 30 weeks and driven it 9 of those weeks

Special Thanks to ****SUBISHI

There actually used to be 5 in san diego, but Escondido was shut down. I remember i was shopping around for a car back in 03 and they offered me the best deal, but i found a better one slightly, and a few months i went back there for some repair, an they were gone. how unfortunate.

Anyways, i hope that im not one of the lucky few that has to undergo a warranty item. but i feel for all that have and keep us updated on whats going on. Just in case it happens to more of us!

Damn I'm tired of hearing these Mitsu dealer stories, we need an official Mitsu rep on these boards to sort stuff like that out

I dont understand how you can warranty a high performance car, and then void a warranty on the basis that you drive it hard. Ok so I bought a fast car but im going to put around in it, and god forbid it does break while im driving it hard Im beat.

The fact that your not modified makes this really stupid.

This race car label is bull, anyone can label any car with that.

The mitsu dealership in SD is the same way (POS). They told me they never cover anything on evos under warranty. Your problem is far more serious you should fight it all the way.
Not all dealerships are bad. Southcoast Mitsubishi just warrantied two front Brembo brake rotors on my 29,000 mile IX due to warpage. And this was after they had resurfaced them once already at 20,000 miles. I think the dealership in NJ sees an RS and immediately thinks this guy must track his car. Good luck with whatever happens!

Don Herring Mitsubishi. The owners son, who is about to take over the dealership, loves Evos. And yes, he hosts Evo Meets too, kinda cool. I like it.

I wouldn't mind going to there for service. =)
