You can calibrate it anywhere.
Cool thanks I'll try that. I didn't calibrate it and it gave us some wack numbers and times maybe that's why.

I just bought "Dynolicious" last night and decided to go out and give it a shot. My results suck, but very accurate. I DID NOT LAUNCH THE CAR. I came off the line slightly more aggressive than normal but still had a ton of lag down low in first gear. Didn't quite bog.

60': 3.21 <--- off the line very gently. I'm not good at launching
0-60: 6.1 <--- again, could be in the 4's if I laucnhed hard
0-80: 9.1 <--- ehh, should be low 8's again with a hard launch
0- 1/8 mile: 9.89 @ 80.8 <--- still no good
Peak Horsepower: 314 (301whp at CBRD)

I used 3370 lbs and 20% drivetrain loss. I expect with a launch the times would be considerabley better. Once I find a longer deserted road I'll go for a 1/4 mile time. I'm more interested in the trap speed since I suck / am scared to break something when launching. If I can trap 107-112mph I'll be happy.

All in all, it's a pretty fun app. I'm looking foward to REV coming out soon

I just did some looking around. My 1/8mile trap shows I should be going around 12.8 - 13.0 in the 1/4 mile. And that's without a launch Who knows how accurate it is. It seems VERY accurate in my opinion.

EDIT: Went out and did more.

1 - Not so good launch. Could be loads better
60': 2.6
0-60: 5.2
0-80: 8.1
0-1/8 mile: 9.1 @ 81mph <--- trap speed should be good for 12's
Peak Horsepower: 340

2 - No launch at all (just experimenting) Normal take off with WOT after full clutch engagment.
60': 3.4
0-60: 7.0
0-80: 10.1
0-100: 13.2
0-1/8 mile: 10.2 @ 81mph
0-1/4 mile: 15.0 @ 98mph
Peak Horsepower: 332

How can I go 0-100mph in 13.2 but do 0-98mph in 15.0 in the same run?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Seeing as though I did 80mph in 9.1 seconds in the first run with a crappy launch, 100mph should come around 11-12 seconds with a good launch. If I could consistantly launch this thing I'd probably do much better. I'm just afriad of breaking something. I was hopeing for atleast a good trap speed but seeing the 0-100 time and then the 1/4 mile time, it just doesn't make sense. I know for a fact the car will go 12's at 105mph+ but probably not with me driving. If I drove it like I stole it, I'm sure I'd see close to the times I'm hoping for. BUT I didn't steal it. Therefore, I baby it off the line.

I was able to get a best of

60': 2.84
0-60: 6.12
0-80: 8.36
0-1/8 Mile: 9.45 @ 83mph
0-100: 12.05
1000': 11.96 @ 100.6mph
0-1/4 Mile: 14.02 @ 109.7mph

How the hell do I do 0-100 in 12.05 and 1000' in 11.96 @ 100.6. How much sense does THAT make.

I've come to the conclusion that YES this app CAN be accurate... On a perfectly smooth, flat, straight and deserted road. And, as long as the iPhone doesn't move and stays in place. Many people LOVE this app, and claim that it's very accurate. Maybe I'm using it wrong. Maybe the iPhone is moving around a bit, or the roads are good eough and cause a variation to throw off the times. I know my launching sucked but I think that it's worth it to go to a track, pay the money, run in SAFE enviornment and get REAL times you can trust.

It's a fun app to play with but I wouldn't 100% trust it.

I'll stick to having fun in the twisties. That's what I'm good at. I don't mind drag racing. I just suck at it,

You can go into the settings and change the rollout for speed and distance to help if your not the best drag racer.

Also make sure you calibrate the application every session.
