I belive the evo takes ds2 bulbs, correct me if im wrong...but i have a set of 9006 with ballast....has anyone installed 9006's in there evo?

did you splice a new power/ground from old harness?

 

GSR's usually came with 9006 bulbs and anything non-HID. Evos equipped with HID and JDM headlights take D2S bulbs. I have 9006 bulbs in my evo before I got my JDM headlights and had to swap bulbs.

 

Just wondering, do cops ever give you guys problems?

well the evos that come d2s...which i belive is mine...03 came with stock HID's...has someone swapped 9006's in there...or maybe is hould just get the d2s bulbs.

 

did you take out the d2s bulbs and old ballast and splice into new power and ground?......and how was fitment in the housing...i understand the way the d2s locks in is with the "spring loaded metal tab"

u used to have 8500k in my lancer and never got pulled over for it...however when i had blue side markers on my 89 crx...i got 40$ ticket

 

well I know certain places online sell rebased D2S bulbs. If some people have made it work ask them how they did it because I was forced to buy the D2S bulbs when I got my JDM headlights to make the kit work again

 

did you reuse the stock ballast? maybe thats why....i do have the 9006 ballast with the bulbs.

 

I had an aftermarket HID kit. I had to buy adapters off ebay. Ones that had the D2S plug end on one side and the male female plugs on the other end that would plug into the harness. this is what I got to make the kit work for me:

oh ok, i see...my only concern was if the 9006 would fit in the stock housing..looks like the d2s has some wierd latch on back to hold them in....hope its moreso universal

 

from what I saw I couldn't fit the 9006 bulb into the D2S housing hence the need for my "custom" setup lol. I would just stick with what fits. I found D2S bulbs on ebay used from an infiniti and they have been working perfectly.

 

They leave you alone unless you get those annoying bright green or purple headlights. Those people should get pulled over anyway.
