Evo owner killed trying to sell his car.
^^^^
truDriver.......
Very scary story you just told.
Glad to hear that you're OK.
RIP for the young man in the news article.
Scum that would kill somebody for a car deserve the severest punishment allowable by law.
Also.........
I've sold a couple of used cars before, and there are always a couple of common sense things like:
1. Always bring somebody with you.
2. Tell friends / family where you are going.
3. Insist on meeting the buyer at a very public place like a mall parking lot at times where there are a decent amount of people around.
4. Do not take long test drives.
5. Do not stop anytime during a test dirve to allow the buyer to "look" at the car .
This goes for purchases for parts too. I've done about 3 evom transactions like this as well.
So sad.

6-speed, thanks for your comments. Safety is so important in these sales because, there are a lot of desperate people out there willing to do ANYTHING to get their hands on your car.
RIP to the victim, and my condolences to his family.

Someone should cross-link or merge this with the Evo's in FL being stolen....
WTF is the world coming to? What happened to people stealing civics? God, shady people are awful, I had a couple come ask me if they could test drive mine but tell me they'd have to borrow it over night since they were going to some party in the next city over. They assured me they would pay 26k for it, and the guy showed me his work security badge, offered to write a check, and give me the keys to their Pontiac. I laughed and told them to go buy another Evo. They probably stole the Pontiac, the check would bounce, and a fake security card takes like 3 seconds to make.
With the age of the suspects I guarentee it was done to steal the car, with maybe a little alterior motive. But the main motive was theft.
