Thanks. I'm a bit confused with the fat wires/hi amp alt...then small battery do you have big plans? if not, 6ga can go up to 10ft atleast for normal car stuff
Well currently I'm running BPR's twin 525 double pumper along with OHM Racings 1GN-1A ignition coil kit & both kits bypass the factory wiring harness with their own due to the increased amp draw so I wanted to be a little overkill.
A couple other things I was looking to improve was lights dimming and rpm dropping with the amperage hit of the radiator fan along with my IX not flashing the first time around even after letting the engine idle a bit. 50% of the time I would have to hold it at 2k RPMS for a couple seconds, immediately key on engine off & then ecuflash would continue. The car definitely drives a bit smoother with all the old core 17 year old power and ground wiring replaced and updated with 1/0 stranded welding cable. Now while driving the cars actually in the 14v + range during operation instead of 13.6-13.8v of both my previous OEM alternators.
I did have to tinker the tune a bit due to the increased voltage but I'm happy to say its helped overall along with those 2 little issues & I have no regrets.

hmm definitely overkill. I've never had that issue with a small cheap battery and I ecuflash often. It works fine under 12v. do you still have the body ground for the intake manifold? I've added extra body grounds when its convenient

Now you wont set your ratchet down & catch my car on fire cleaned up the wires a bit too.
Yes I had all my factory grounds + mitsu's OEM accessory grounding kit.
Now I have a 1/0 ground from my alternator housing to chassis, replaced the factory intake manifold ground with a 1/0, 1/0 ground from my head to my chassis & replaced the factory negative terminal ground wire with a 1/0 & added a second chassis point ground before going to the block.
My starter, alternator & fuse box have a 1/0 power cable to match. Safe to say its a bit overkill but no issues & no regrets
Is that a DIY steering wheel wrap and if so where did you get it....that looks GREAT!
If you are referring to mine, it is from Auto Interior Technic and you stitch it onto your wheel with everything they provide. You can get different colors. You can get Alcantara but that is extra.

Yes sorry I forgot the quote on the last reply....what materials did you get? My wheel is shot!

I've been considering getting one too. Not sure if Alcantara is worth the $100 extra and facing an internal struggle about getting the center stripe or not...
Mine is the non Alcantara and with blue as the color, with center stripe. It has held up well but I might try Alcantara when I eventually need to replace it. Just give yourself time for the sewing part and I would recommend doing the full stitching past the bends in the wheel. It suggests skipping every other thread after a certain length but it is best to at least go as far as you see in this pic. One drawback to the center stripe is that you will notice it getting dirty way before the rest.
Note: The black wheel material is darker than it appears in photos. Not sure what it is about that material that makes it show up light in photos.
Went on a little road trip to help with a move... ...then this happened, luckily it's an easy fix so after... ...went rippin' some logging roads in the snow!
wide angle lens make them look super long, but they're standard length extends. =D . 10-12mm spacer nothing crazy. I track the car gives me piece of mind knowing my wheels wont rip off haha
