Just curious if owners here cover you hood, or not. If you do what do you use.

I only ask because it rained a crap load, and I forgot to cover the car, and now I'm having battery issues (somehow it got all wet)

i don't cover mine...you shouldn't get that much rain in there as long as you have the thin sheet metal piece with the vented slots in it...if you only have the mesh and you can see your whole engine i wouldnt leave it out in the rain

I clean my engine bay with a power washer 2 times a year and never have any issues whatsoever. You must have an electrical issue somewhere if simple rainfall is giving you problems.

Yeah, I never ever had any issues. I even know people without the cover on that don't have any issues. What kind of battery issues are you seeing?

I live in washington and it rains A LOT, and i dont even run the think piece of sheet metal, it restricts a lot of heat when its in.

No problems at all.

i dont have the metal vented piece on mine you can see the engine through the mesh.no elctrical problems and my car gets rained on and washed.i understand there is a recall on some year models because of water coming in the body grommet behind the driver fender and damaging a fuse box.might want to look into that as it would be covered under warranty.i hope that helps you.

Just cover the motor with a blanket. I do when I wash my car. I keep my engine bay nearly spotless, so the blanket absorbs any water that might leak through. If it's going to rain, pop the hood and cover the engine. Won't fix your current battery issue, but might help prevent a future one.

Yes, but only because I just have the mesh and a turbo kit. Don't want all that pretty SS to get surface rust! I cover it with whatever I have, usually keep a rag or a piece of cardboard and some tape if I can't avoid driving in the rain (which I usually do). Once I left a sweatshirt in there all day at work and came out and forgot about it until it was on fire!!!
