Picking up a Evo 8 tomorrow.. Lots of Pics
Mitsubishi bought it back b/c they went past their three attempts to fix it. Under arbitration, they bought the car back, before the car was lemoned. The car is basically a lemon car.
They are disclosing this b/c the title is branded. The car is worth SIGNIFICANTLY less. You will get nothing for it when you try to trade it in or sell it in the future.
What if you were to have the same problem? Do you have the 4 grand to buy a new transmission and have it installed?
I went to Edmunds.com. In good shape, the car is worth 18,000, without a branded title.
I would knock off at least 4k from that.
My stock clutch catches near the top as well. I would be concerned with this vehicle - I would definitely not purchase it without getting it inspected by a reputable Tech. A warranty of some sort would be good as well....is this from a private seller?? They didn't even clean up the inside? =(

Didn't go. Instead I took everyone's advice and the search will continue for the RIGHT Evo for me.
Thanks for everyone's input and suggestions!!
way to hold off you can find a better deal...i got my 03 VIII over a year ago for 18,000 and 40,000 miles mint exterior and interior no hits on carfax and checked out very well...good luck with the search!
Its not a good deal at all. You can get a much better deal on an evo here on our forums alone.Hell I was going to sell my 05 soon for just a bit more. If you want an evo go 05+ or youll regret it.
