Picking up a Evo 8 tomorrow.. Lots of Pics
Good decision on NOT getting that evo... The advice mentioned before is 100% correct. That vehicle most likely has a branded title from the Mitsu buy back. Worth a lot less do to that alone. Plus from the pics it doesn't look to be in that good of condition...
Horrible Swirl marks, Doesn't even looked like the dealer even tried to detail it.... I would low ball or stay away!!!

get the car inspected indepently from the dealer and make sure you bring it to someone who knows what to look for on these cars. while they are pretty reliable if someone ran it hard you could be in for some expensive repairs. that transmission thing worries me.
phew. reading through this thread i was feeling bad for you thinking you picked it up already and was just learning this. way to hold off! good luck on your search.
car looks nice for the money... needs a really good cleaning... probally could use a good claybaring and buff and wax.... as for compliments... i get them none stop.. from all types of people, of all ages lol
Someone did NOT take good care of that paint. It looks like they ran it through a car wash daily when you look at it under the sun, the swirls/etching/spidering in the clear coat is HORRIBLE.
Make sure if you buy that that you get the following:
1. Complete maintenance up to date.
2. A complete detail of the entire car both inside/out, most detail places can do this for anywhere between $150-300 which includes a complete claying/polish. Send it to the detail shop of your choice!
3. Get the documentation that shows Mitsubishi replaced the transmission under buy-back. Make sure you have complete history documented by the dealership/Mitsubishi is in order with your purchase so if you have problems you can go back and get repairs/replacement under warranty.
4. Get the entire maintenance history of this car.
Good luck with your purchase. With the economy the way it is all of those things above are NOT out of order and should be negotiated into the purchase.
