I'v been wondering why this forum has no activity? Now I think I know why.

Every time a good discussion or thread gets rolling on this forum Supermoderator to the rescue!!! to completely shut it down. What's wrong with a pissing contest? this forum gets interesting every once in a while, but someone always has to kill it.

Now, I understand people flame each other and dog pile like what happened to EVOVIII, but Jesus H. Christ man it seems like the moderators just want people have to tippy toe in this forum or the discussion gets shut down.

I just post now to try to get some sort of discussion rolling.

I really like this forum. I check it first thing in the morning, at work, at school, and before bed. There are allot of anxious people just like me excited about greatest jap performance car to hit our shores since the Supra was taken from us. I just don't like the discussion always being just stopped because one individual decides to put the brakes on the subject.

The last thread that I closed down.....I closed down because it had turned into a domestic vs. import discussion, and it had turned into a fight between two people that could've taken place over PM's.

The point here is that our buddy Mark (KK) has generously shelled out the $$$ for these forums, and personally, if I was shelling out $$$ for a forum like this, I wouldn't want people to get into discussions like the last one I saw, over the space that I was paying for.

I closed the thread down, because I had talked with a couple mods, and we decided that it was getting a bit out of hand. Simple as that.

Not to brownnose the mods on this one but I agree with Hooby. This is free to all of us Lancer owners, its a chance to get to know new people and share knowledge about our cars. I for one refuse to partake in any arguing because there is no point to it. Like my daddy told me when I was younger - "opinions are like *******s, everyone's got one and they usually stink." So why not just respect what few rules the mods have set up for us?

well not to get on anyones bad side....i do understand BW can be a problem, especially with pictures, but there are ways around shutting down posts. You could simply have a timer on how many days, weeks, months or years these messages will stay. Alot of sites keep a running log of all the posts and never delete them. Have you ever looked at half of the posts in history? Most are reoccuring and stupid. Besides how many people will be like oh ****, remember that domestic war, im going to go back and read it. Also the average post is what 1-3kb...oh well im getting to technical now.

Hey thanks for venting and letting that out because I understand what your point is. Oh, and you could have done a better job than pointing me out noticeably ... Than again moderators have a job to do and that's fine because it is expected on their part.

Once awhile forums do get dull and it's nice to have some fun ...

 

I agree things need to be moderated. Hence the term "Moderator" but lets not kill things too quickly. Hence the term "Killer."

Sometimes getting straight to the point looks like it is something that is getting out of hand.

 

The moderators on I-Club seem pretty cool. They usually don't delete a thread unless it has pr0n links or pics. (or street racing in the General Forum which gets effin flamed harsh anyway! )

No offense to most mods here, but one in particular seems like he's power tripping. He deleted my thread which was an honest n00by question about who ran the forum. I joked about who not to **** off so I don't get banned and he deleted it! He PM'd me that he thought I might "incite something." Some people read way too much into things.
