Dealer Visit

Went to my dealer this afternoon, I talked to the sales manager for some time.

1. He said that he ordered some brochures/ information on the EVO today, and that should be here in about a month. Could be B.S.

2. They are not taking deposits until August, when they are hopping they will have their first allocation of cars, he expects to get about four cars at that point. The cars would be here about 3 months later or so.

3. He said that the dealership could ask over MRSP, however they are not going to do that.

4. I asked about how the process of ordering the car would be. He said that offers the cars and packages but not a lot can be changed at that time. He said that is not "organized as GM for example", "so you get what they send you."

5. Asked about the price, he has every reason to believe the car will be around $28k," that is the consensus among the dealers in my state", (Had a meeting 2 weeks ago)

6. I asked about the power, he said your guess is as good as mine, however "we fell it will be between 265 and 295 HP."

Now ,the best part, after our meeting a list was made and my name is first there, he said as soon as he hears about how many car he will be allocated he will give me a call. and then I will be allowed to put down a deposit. " Not Today" as I wanted

I left there with a pretty good feeling that in fact we may get this car sooner or right at Jan 03.

thanks,

Good update. Thanks for the info. All seems pretty reasonable.
If you get those brochures be sure to let us know.

I do hope the release is sooner than January.

I thought it was because of the whole corporate book thing.. whatever happened to that, anyways?? still waiting?

That explains it. Those Mobsters [I mean Unions] will kill their workers for not driving Americans. Hence, the supply of Evo avaliable in Michigan.

I went in to my Local Mitsu Dealor, and spoke with the manager, and he has NOO clue what the evo even was... He said that he had heard rumors that they were going to recieve a new model vehicle that he thinks was the evo I spoke of, jan. 2003, but he couldnt offer me any pricing or anything, and they aren't taking deposits yet either.

I just bought a Lancer OZ rally a few months ago, and I'm planning on trading it in as soon as the evo's get here. I'm going to keep going to the mitsu dealorship, and getting more info, and I want to put a deposit as soon as they are willing to accept it, so hopefully I can get my evo as soon as they are realeased. I can't wait!!!
