well i was out yesterday in the evo and i got on the gas hard in 4th gear watched my boost went to 23psi like normal once i hit 4k rpm the car bucked twice then my check engine light came on i went over to my buddys work to pulll the code well there was 2 codes for over boost ive havent changed my boost levels since i put the boost controller in never had the problem until i put my exhaust on can some on explain this thank you

sounds like boost cut or fuel cut. need to get tuned brother. intake, exhaust and boost control, the natural progression would be tune now. good luck man

 

I had the same problem bro. The downpipe is causing the turbo to spool faster. Try adjusting the boost contoller again. But keep your boost at stock levels (19-21psi)until you get a tune. It could mess **** up big time!! Hope it helps.

I'm doing the same thing. I just turned the boost down to 20psi and im gonna get a tune when i get my 272's

 

if you aren't tuned turn your boost down..it's not helping you if you aren't tuned for it

adding a 3" exhaust improves flow which allows your boost to creep which is the cause of your issue

 

Your DV spring might not be able to handle a spike longer than a couple of seconds causing it to open up and dump all the air thus causing the "buck" in addition to having opening up the exhaust. Doing a pull in 4th at lower rpms and getting "hard on the gas" as you said makes this even easier to happen.

Turn down the boost if you have messed with it at all as said before, and go get a tune. Once this is done and it happens again then you need to upgrade your DV to one with a stronger spring in it.

just eflash your car till you get it dynoed, you need to get that done asap all those mods on your car an no tune is not good, plus your missing out on so much more power. i suggest checking out 4wstuning.com
