UPIC with factory size battery?

I hear small battery's aren't that good and die alot faster than a regular size battery. About a month ago my battery died so I was forced to get a battery and I decided to get the Optima Red Top.

I have the stock UICP now but i want to upgrade to the Buschur UICP but i'm going to have to relocate my battery to the trunk if i want the Buschur UICP...or maybe not?

I had a idea and it looks like with the Buschur UICP and the factory size battery, the battery should fit if it was rotated 90 degress.

I remember seeing a modified battery tray to rotate the battery but I couldn't find the thread.

One reason why i don't want to relocate the battery is because if the battery is in my trunk i need an external battery cut off switch which is a no go unless it could be mounted underneath my car so i'm not drilling holes into my bumper....

So the perfect solution would be for some vendor to design a sideways battery tray so people like me can still use there factory size battery and a short route UICP

Relocate it to the trunk which will be easier and you get better weight distribution.

He explained why he doesn't want to do that.

I'm in the same boat as you. I'd like to at least replace the couplers on the UICP cause the stock braided ones flex too much, but spending $500 for a new UICP, tray and battery is a bit outrageous!

I had it done but without a cutoff switch. I just bought a relocated kit and it came with a box, 4 gauge wires and the arbitrary things to make it work. I've been running it for 6 months and no probs so far. Just make sure you secure the box to the frame.

a relocation kit is simple but my car is my DD and i dont wanna ruin the rear bumper with a cut off switch....and i would like to run at the track but its a track rule that if you have a relocated battery there needs to be a external cut off switch no matter what your ET is....it would be nice if all i had to do was buy a battery tray and maybe have to extend the battery cables a little if need be....

it's been proven time and time again that the uicp makes little to no difference at all...the licp is where you want to change

and you can't call be biased because I have ETS mini battery kit and short route uicp

yeah i already have the ETS LP2....and i've heard the UICP doesn't make a whole lot of difference but it does help with the flex of the stock couplers and such but one thing too is a nice looking piece

I have the ETS UICP with a stock sized battery and it works great, like chaotic says, it doesn't make much of a difference.

so once you guys had the UICP on you didn't feel any difference at all? did it help out with spool up at all? and the power gains pry are enough to notice them they would have to be proven on a dyno i'm guessing
