Probably because most VIII and IX owners only care about drag racing, and if they build another VIII or IX Time attack car it won't make sales go up for them, If they build up a new platform the X which has a different audience of people, they will make more money that way and also see what potential the new platform has. It's all simple economics lol. I do not mean anything bad about this I'm just saying they can research and develop new parts for the X.

I don't think that's exactly true.. I think it's possible for the next platform to be a better one. AMS did mention in a previous post that they will be returning next year running in a higher class than they did this year.
It is true though, that market-wise it makes sense to go forth with the new Evo.

Either way, interesting results! An Evo IX ended up being the fastest in the Limited class. Followed by an NSX and and two 2006 Evo VIII's??
I'd like to see one of the previous generation Evo's in an unlimited class next year!

I think the fact that EVOs finished 1 2 and 3 in Street AWD really says a lot about the prowess of the EVO. All of us at FP are very proud to have our turbos on so many of the top finishers in the StreetAWD class, 5 out of the top 10 finishers ran FP turbos, either Green or Red versions.
