Super Lap Battle 08

Not a single evo finished faster than 1:50. Subaru ruled the top 5! Where are all the evos at? Get off the strip and onto the course!

Doesn't that HKS evo also hold the track record at Tsukuba?

Its actually Cusco sti with tarzan hired as the driver. He's just a driver for hire like the rest of them. The HKS ct evo is just plain nuts but is $$$. It has come under much criticism, still, for being too severe for a tuner car. It no doubt kicks much ***, though. Congrats to evom's own nils for sweeping the street tire class. I'm sure with a race budget he could easily sweep the unlimited class!

Most of the EVO's were competing in lower classes of competition. For instance our car and Ryan gates Car were in street class along with Nils. In street EVO's finished 1,2 and 3.

Our plans from day one were to take the car to the super lap battle and compete as a street car then bring her home and strip to bare metal, acid dip it, seam weld it and build a full blown RACE car out of it. Don't worry we will be back in unlimited by the start of next year with an EVO X that will be sure to give some the Subaru guys something to look out for

Great to hear AMS, but why are you guys going with the X? Has it already proven to be a greater racing platform than the IX?

In street class 4 of the top 5 cars were Evos and 1 Sty. Hell crawford Performance witha professional driver, Taner Foust, lost too a privateer and a small San Diego shop. The fifth place car was not Robi, it was Reese Tuning driven by an unknown driver.
Limited Class 1st Place was an Evo as well.

the limited awd was won by evasive evo based on the results. it is only in the unlimited awd where there was no evo competing.

I guess I missed something, I thought the Evo teams and drivers that participated in the event did a fantastic job and congratulations to all of them. As far as the guys at the strip, their doing a fantastic job as well and need to just keep on doin’ what their doin’. As a matter of fact we shouldn’t forget the autox folks either, looks they kicked a$$ this year too.
