Question Could these be the U.S specs???

Today while I was on my lunch break, I decided to go on Mitsubishi's web site. I tried to get some info on the EVO. While I was searching, I found the auto show part of the site where Mitsu tells you about their future cars. When I came to the Evo's section, it had SPECS.

I know that these are the same specs as the Euro and Japanese Evo VII but there is nothing on the web site that says "Euro spec" or "Japanese spec"

Anyway I hope these are the specs we are going to get.

I noticed the same thing serum. I think that whoever designed the website just used the Jap spec's of the Evo to substitute(as the template is EXACTLY the same).

I do agree with Claudius though, whether it is initially 260, 270 or 290...it will be pretty much irrelevant once I am done modding it. Also, many times manufacturers will lower horsepower simply by restricting the exhaust(or other such simple things). So whereas sometimes you may get 20hp from changing exhaust, other times if the OEM exhaust was SEVERELY restricted you may see 30 or even 50hp from replacement.

This is one of the reasons that the same exhaust has different effects on different vehicles(note I said ONE).

I realize that HP and all that doesn't matter but what I want to know is that if AYC and ACD will come to America. I know none of you have the answer now and all. What I'm asking is if there wasn't AYC and ACD included in the Evo than is there a way to order a part from Japan and put it on the Evo?

You forget...

Yeap, you "could" and will mod the car by turning up the boost and whatever, but some of us are going to be competing in SCCA stock class. So you see these specs are sort of important esp. when trying to guess what class the car will be in. It makes the difference between DS (WRX class) and AS (Boxster S class). One of these classes I will be slightly more concerned with than the other. Can you guess?

I'll gurantee you one thing. YOU WILL NOT BE RUNNING WITH STOCK WRX's if one manages to catch you while you're driving an Evo than I would promptly return the car.

Claudius,
At first I thought the same thing about the ACD/AYC...why would they take it out since it would cost more to redesign??
The answer is that it cost a lot less to take it out, than to train every Mitsubishi technician in the country to work on it. they would have to train everyone in order to be able to cover them under warranty.

The verdict...I doubt the US lancers will have ACD\AYC. Most people won't miss it, and the mech drivetrain already exists in the RS (no redesign).

I agree with that last post.

But back to the topic, does anyone have the link to those "specs"? I can't seem to find them.

If I were you, I would hope that they do NOT come with AYC since that keeps you from powersliding the car. Very strange attitudes here...
I believe we also talked about this elsewhere in the forums with Dark Evo and Simon Nelson AYC= in the Lancer Weight Reduction Thread if I remember right.

from a RELIABLE source I've found a few things.....US SPEC EVO7 will be similar to JDM spec, except:

1) FMIC will be moved to the side
2) Boost will be dropped
3) Exhaust will be more restrictive.

All the goodies like Brembo, Recaro, Momo, AYC/ACD stays. HP at least 250.

The info is from a few insiders in . If I don't give their names out I can get more info in the future so stay tuned.

very nice pics there but if you didn't want them out then you shouldn't have posted them without asking Mark to protect them first.

I took the post off. Thanks for the heads-up. How can I get Mark to protect them? Thanks!
