I agree that some people are probably getting shafted on warranty issues but, I think that so many people have raced their cars and tore something up that mitsu is just trying not to lose it's *** on warranty work do to abuse.

Well you said the warranties were voided because they "launched" their cars..not because they had mods. BTW, they can't totally void a warranty because of mods. The failure has to be as a result of the modification. If they have an issue with their Evo and the dealer refuses to cover it you don't simply hang your head, say ok, and walk out. Some "bad" dealers have to be pressed or swayed by things you can do such as contact BBB, Mitsu Corp., an attorney, etc.
I had to do it with Dodge to get a motor rebuilt/replaced in my Durango. They tried to say it was as a result of "neglect" and that the oil wasn't changed at required intervals. I fought it..contacting everyone I could. In the end I paid nothing to have it fixed.
There are going to be some issues with most new cars. Get over it. Take it in and get it fixed. If you only live around crappy dealers that give you a hard time about mods or racing...don't take it in for anything with the mods on it!

I think we need to start keeping track of where people are having warranty issues.

Is it just California (who have trouble with everything)? In Frostbite Falls? Or a random distribution around the US?

cary, you didn't mention your region, or put it on your profile. For all we know, you're having trouble with a dealer in the Falkland Islands.

I'm in New England (Boston metro), and I've seen one Mitsu dealer I wouldn't turn my back on, and one that's far better than most of the local Scoobie dealers.

Ya win some, ya lose some, and some get rained out.
