Time to stand up to Mitsu

fellas it is time we put these issues to rest and actually do something to stand up for ourselves.

we cannot just sit by watching mitsu screw us repeatedly on things that are not our fault.

if you are reading mitsu, i am talking about your ****ty paint, your horrible service, your fake warranty coverage, illegal spying, and everything else you have caused us to complain about.

you cannot rip out our drivetrain when we come in for service because your frail *** clutch can't even handle everyday driving. next thing we know our warranties will be voided because we actually drove the car.

you cannot send spies to the tracks to take photos and times of people at the dragstrip. we will fight this.

you cannot void our warranties for going to the track/autox etc. every other freaking car can do this with no repercussions and the irony in all this is that this is what the car is made for.

mitsu will not get away with their bull**** any longer.

guys, i am asking for your help. let's do something about this. maybe we should make a website detailing all the problems mitsu has caused us and make it available in search engines and maybe even a little advertising. i know this would cost a little bit of money (domain registration, server, etc.) but i am ready and willing to contribute and im certain many of you are too. we have some website gurus on here who could help us.

the website deal is just an idea. we can go another route. but we have to fight mitsu for all the bad things they have done to us.

ideas?

I am with you VIII. I took the car in for the recall. They asked if I had any problems with the car I told them a few little things, they took care of them no problem. As far as clutch and trans problems which seem to the bulk of everyones gripes, It seems to me that almost everyone that has had a problem with them has at one point or another posted on here about drag racing the car. Get it through your head it is not a drag car. I don't want to hear " It's a racecar" it's not a racecar. Racecars don't have synchros. Besides most people research cars before they buy them, in almost every article I've read they talk about how fragile the clutch is and god knows warranty issues have been covered enough on here. If you can't deal with it don't buy the car. But I think I'm not alone in saying I'm sick of hearing all these complaints. This is a Mitsubishi enthusiast web site not an anti-mitsu web site. Be happy cars like this even exist.

I have to say my dealer is pretty good... Shreveport Champion Mitsu.... and Alfriedesq you my friend obvisouly aren't worried about any warrenty.... you have entirely too much money and we all know your warrenty was voided long ago.. (i wish i had that kind of money!)

Sorry cary, it seems that eveytime someone tries to get somthing going, all the people who have not had any problems get on their high horses and start preaching. This guy did not ask for your negative comments, he asked for people with legitimate problems to band together. I am sure many people are happy, my dealer covered my clutch, which I am grateful for, but I should not have to replace the clutch at 2,500.

And If you don't think this car is a "racecar" look at any ads or brochures, Every pic is of the evo flying through the air or racing. NO its not a race car, its a 30,000 grocery getter.

If you are not going to help cary's cause don't post in his damn thread.

love sano

sorry but cary sounds like some 16 year old spoiled little brat...

i've had no issues with getting any warranty work done on my car... my dealer has been great... they even installed most of mods...

as far as spying at the track...? if you are racing the car they are not liable to give you warranty work... who the **** gives warranty work for guys that race their cars...? no one...!

suck it up... you race ****, you break ****, you pay to fix **** yourself...!

sigh i understand what u are saying but i really dont like your attitude towards young evo drivers. given i am not 16 but 17 i am and i dont race my car. it is unreasonable that just because someone is young and has a "sports" car then they will race it. I would like to call it spirited driving rather than racing. the difference that when i find twisties then i will go as fast as i can but otherwise it would be normal below turbo spool limits. please refrain from ever using insulting terms towards young people ie me

back to the matter, my dealer hasnt been much bad nor good. although ever since i brought my car in for the recall, my trans seems a lot smooth. maybe it is just me but now it feels as smooth as a baby's bottom. and when i asked about mods they just told me flat out that mods=void in warrenty. when i mentioned ralliart, they told me they didnt know for sure but there shouldnt be any trouble with factory parts. iono about racing but the guy urged me to take my car to the tracks. maybe the dealer here just didnt care about people racing the car. but one comment that disturbed me was that when i mentioned clutch failures, he said that the only people with clutch failures were retards who could drive stick. sigh

actually diesel i am not 16, i unfortunately am probably much older than you, and the last thing i am is spoiled.

other than the few friendly dealerships, mitsu is screwing us. period. there is absolutely no reason to take out the drivetrain when a customer brings in the car to fix the 5th gear synchro. they are trying to void our warranties with any chance they get. i know two people who went in for the simple recall and left with their warranties voided. why? because they had determined that the owners launched the car. that is BS.

between the paint issues, drivetrain failures, clutch problems, wearing carpet, and 5 month evo's showing rust, i think there are more than enough of us to band together on this. i have owned alot of cars and never have i seen such a disgraceful company as mitsu.

Actually diesel alot of dealers don't care if you race. I had a prelude sh with alot of mods, and even with mods they covered EVerything under warrenty. My My Z28 and corvette were treated the same way.

As a car company you can't premote an all out "racecar" (and that is how they permote it) and then not support the people who buy your product.

Once again cary is looking for people who want to help him, not gripe at him.

Sorry but I don't believe what you said here. Can you say lawsuit? I would go to the dealer and get it on tape or in writing that they voided the warranty for that reason and then I would have them to explain to my attorney how they think this is grounds to void a warranty.
BTW, how did they know they launched the car? There is NO WAY they tore down the car for the simple recall fix that has nothing to do with the drivetrain

No please let this thread die
