The self-serve wash by me uses warm water in the winter. I usually give it a good wax before the winter comes so I have a good protective coat on the clear. The only thing I don't use at the self serve is the brush. People use that on their car all the time and never spray it off or anything so all the dirt just builds up in the brush. I see guys all the time with their big a$$ trucks all muddy and their scrubbin the mud off and just put the brush back. F@#$ that!

I wash my car frequently during winter just to rinse off the salt and other crap they put on roads. If the temp is above freezing then I will vacuum and clean the whole car.

If the temp is way below freezing I wouldn't waste time washing the car because when the temp is that low the salt can't hurt the paint on your car. It is when the temp rises above freezing then the rust process starts which is why it’s good to rinse off the salt at that time.

clean

my dad puts the hose in the basement so it doesnt freeze and he is out there in the snow washing all 3 cars. We buffed and polished an srt 4 and my evo today did an oil change and fixed a flat easily.

Just put the hose away and you should be fine.
