Strange behavior

Hi, I am having trouble diagnosing this problem: I have a 2003 Evo 8 47k miles

The other day I drove home and parked the car and turned the car off. When I did the car died completely, no interior lights or anything. I thought that was weird so I tried to start the car again and it acted as if it were completely dead. No sound, no crank, no lights no nothing.
So I checked the battery to see if everything was connected and there was no oxidation - everything looked good, I also checked the fuse box in the engine bay and nothing was blown.
I then opened the driver door and the interior lights lit up. I started the car as if nothing was wrong however, it ejected my cd, the clock was reset, and the car revved up to 2000 rpms on startup and then dropped to a normal 900 for idle. My trip mileage was reset.

That happened again today. The car acts as if it doesn't have a battery connected, then after a minute or so it starts up as if nothing were ever wrong, except it resets everything.

Possible relevant mods:
HID foglights
Defi boost gauge
M700 laser blinder

Other mods:
hks 272 cams
perrin intake
ets licp v2
Evo IX DV
megan o2 housing w/new o2 sensor
3"dp and hks catback exhaust
ACT stage 2 clutch
Works ECU reflash

If you have any clue as to what the heck is going on, please chime in! It has never done that before.
The battery is a diehard (installed by previous owner)
THANKS!
-mike

The next time this happens put a volt meter across the battery. I think you have a bad battery.

Make sure you are not arc'ing the starter. Using an Evo 8 turbo outlet pipe with an Evo 9, EvoGreen or EvoRed will arc the starter.
