Does this mean if we can intercept the signal from all above, we can control the intercool spray?

It means it takes a variety of inputs (how hard you are driving the car basically) to determine when to spray. I wonder if it varies the length of the spray in terms of time?

It means that the sprayer in 'auto mode' doesn't just spray on a preset schedule...ie spray for 5 secs 2x per minute.

It means that there really is some intelligence built into the ECU to determine when the spray is really needed.

Cool!

so question (from a guy can only wish for an evo right now).

when the spray is on manual, is there a noticable boost in power when you first press the spray? just wondering. i'm completely a turbo noob.

I'll second Aaron's reply. There is no difference that I can feel. In reality, it prob does make a difference (using the spray or not), but it's only noticable with test equipment.

so then what's the big deal with the spray? and what's the point of operating it manually if you can't feel a difference.

i was dreaming it was more like hitting nitrous or something. how sick would that be?

There is a nitrous kit you can buy to spray the intercooler with. That will not be as sharp of an acceleration increase but definitely help especially when dynoing.

I think the intercooler spray makes a softer, more linear difference than you are all expecting. If it's 60 degrees out and you're on the highway cruising at 70mph, drop it to 4th, spray the intercooler for a few seconds, then take off. You should notice it pulls a little harder, albeit not much.

SO when will the ability to have an Xede to ECU reflash change the behavior of how the sprayer is operated? maybe extend spray times, or allow the spray mode to stay in memory when car is turned off.

I lust after this feature! How about the same thing for the fog lights.

I wonder if it will make a difference if it is 115 degree out and I spray?
