I'm not betting you anything, I just want to see it. I believe the viii and ix license plate bracket is the same. If you installed it without drilling holes then you didn't follow the directions. Sure, you can make anything work differently if you want to. That's not the point.

I don't get why you just can't explain what you did or take a picture.

I followed the directions! It used the screws by the grill and there is a rubber stopper on the other side so it doesnt scratch the paint, look here, I am going to take pictures tonight when I get home from work, maybe I am just special, or maybe the dealers are all idiots and can't even figure it out.

Maybe it's different for the VIII? My instructions from the manual inside the sealed bracket package said to drill so that's what happened.

I only have 1 hole on my 8 and its towards the bottom, little black dot. When I took off my bracket, it was held on by three bolts, two went underneath, 1 where the black rubber gromlet is. This may be how dan's looks as well.

Dan, The point is that the OP didnt drill the holes. Most dealers drill the holes and mount the plate. Your dealer didnt mount your plate holder and you mounted it without drilling holes. Unfortunatly most of us didnt have that option, and discussing how stupid the dealers are is spilled milk at this point. At the same time I see what your saying and kuddo's to you for mounting it without drilling holes.

For the rest of us we have 3 options.

1. Mount plate holder and use those holes.
2. Cover those holes with vinyl
3. Fill those holes with bondo and paint

I found this apparently there is a variety of ways you "can" mount it

the true way appears to be drill two holes up top and use the intercooler screen bolt hole and a screw on the side screen below the driver side headlight

I would take it to a body shop and have them fill and paint the holes, or paint the push clips and put it in the hole or the sticker, all depends how much money you want to spend..

Mine looks exactly like Houston's WW VIII. One single hole toward the bottom. Sure glad there wasn't three holes.

Take it to a bodyshop and get it filled. It may be costlier, but it's worth it.
