problems with exposed front end vents?
does anyone have any problems with a modded evo that has a lot of exposed openings in the front end? i have a small radiator so the passenger side of the upper part of the vents next to the mitsu emblem is totally exposed. also the two long width narrow height vents above the intercooler openings are also exposed. my air filter is exposed in the passenger side bottom opening.
i understand this is great for the other 3 months, but i plan to drive this car all season. anyone using a prefilter or a drycharger like these? http://www.knfilters.com/wraps.htm
i am having a custom exhaust manifold heat shield fabbed to block the incoming water or snow. would it be ok to block off some of these openings? there has to be enough air coming through for cooling through the intercooler and radiator. most cars have 1/3 the openings our cars have.

no problems for me. i don't have the vents on my hood and it rains a lot here. i also have an aftermarket exhaust manifold. the only problems is that the grill parts paint started to come off directly above the manifold. just a quick touch up of high them paint and it was back to normal.
