If you f**k with the car, it f**ks with your warranty.

People have had their warranty's voided for switching to a cone filter.

I got an extended warranty when I got my evo used. It was called Mitsubishi marquis service and I got it because the evo i got was from a mitsubishi dealer. I have had no problems so far and I've had a few things fixed already. My car also has an open air filter and hks cat back.

Ya i have done that before. I use to be a suby owner. Had a 01 2.5rs impreza with a motor swap. Invested about 10K parts and labor on it and in 2000 miles it went bye bye. Pretty much it was totaled. I was so heart broken. It took about 1 and a 1/2 year to build that car. It was FAST. I had a wrx motor with a sti block with a bigger turbo and boy did that car move. i would be pushed back on my seat once i hit the gas. =-D. I told my self after that car i would buy a fast car right out of the box and not touch it lol. So The evo is my fast fun out of the box kinda car. Dont want to invest alot of money on it. Want it as my fun weekend car. =-) Its fast enough for me right now with the stock internals and turbo. Maybe down the line but not any time soon.

Yeah, it was just a suggestion and not to start a fight. There is no way I can summarize 100's of warranty denial threads in one sentence. That is why I suggested you just do some searching and reading to get the details from the people it actually happened to.

I just don't get why people are so defensive when others suggest they search for the info that we know is already there.

Try this thread for starters: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...ega-merge.html. It is titled "Sticky: Poll: Warranty Issues <Mega Merge>" and it is a sticky on the top of this forum. 3,856 replies for you to read through.

Anyway, good luck & enjoy the car, with or without the warranty.

Looks like CatakystGST might have not had a good experience with his dealership and seems pretty disgruntled. Your car will still be under warranty until 60,000 and it will all just depend on your dealership if they decide to work on your car. Your warranty will not be "voided", they aren't going to call every other dealership or put your car on a "black list". Many people have had problems with one dealer, just try different ones and see what they will do. I'm very lucky, I bought my car stock, 2nd owner and have had the Syncro's changed, new T-case, new injector seals, new brake calipers, new climate control and all this done with full exhaust, test pipe, intake, swift spec r springs w/ MR struts. GL.
