Calling everyone who has a extended warranty

To get or not to get.
Hey guys,
I am the second owner of my 05 Evo8. It currently only has 7000 miles. It is fairly new. When the car goes to the second owner the warranty is only the 5 yrs 60000 miles. The 10 yr and 100000 miles warranty is droped for the engine and tranny. This car is my weekend car and is not my dd. I do not plan to upgrade the turbo or put any internal mods on it. I only plan to have normal bolt ons.
Currently i have ported hotside, ported manifold, ported stock 02 housing, Muse LICP, DC sport downpipe, Greddy sp2 exhaust and evo 9 bov.

So i almost have everything stock. Im not sure how much a extended warranty costs but do you guys think it would be worth getting it? Keep in mind this will be my weekend car and i dont plan to track or drag it at all.

If anyone out there has had a extended warranty, can you tell me how much u paid for it and was it worth it. I know it will be different at each dealer but i just want to have a idea of the price.

thanks in advance.

Ya well if i had a problem i would change all the bolt on with the stock parts. The only thing they cant see is the ported hotside, o2 and manifold. Those are the stock parts. Why would ported stuff void my warranty? Its still the stock parts.

The second they take a look at your car (if it had a problem) they will run full tests unless you know someone there. They check for pressure and any signs of modifications. If it saves them money, they'll be sure to check. They know people don’t by evo’s any leave them stock, it’s just not happening. If you even take your car in to the dealer in its current condition for an oil change they will probably put a mark on your car.

Some people get lucky, but your better off saying F' the warranty, it's hard to get them to willingly fix anything with the powertrain and engine compartment anyways. They only thing they easily fix is interior crap like seat brackets.

even if you put it back to stock, most likely they will give you a hard time for any type of warranty work.

I've had good luck with the warranty on my car however I have had the car since day one (bought it brand new). As most have said on here Mitsu is very good at arguing the possibility of aftermarket or modified parts causing "more power" or "excessive drivetrain wear" so you are better off just taking the money you would have spent on a warranty and getting a Shep trans case or something like that. Or just put it in a high yield CD and hope you don't have to use it to fix the Evo. Also, make friends with the good Evo/4G63 Mechanics in your area. The grease monkey's at the dealership are not the greatest mechanics. Not bad for a stock car but not the greatest.

Are the dealers that bad on fixing the cars? Man that is horrible. I do all my oil changes my self and the only reason why i would take it to them is to fix major parts. other than that aftermarket shops would be the best option. So its a waste of money. that is sad to hear. So does anyone have there evo in stock form? thanks for the info guys.

you should have known this before you bought the car. It does suck that they give the worst possible service for their cars but who cares. Like yourself, I do most of the work on my car and when something major breaks or something, then time to either upgrade or repair at your shop of choice. F Mitsu and their "warranty", I will never bring my car to them.

You need to spend a few mins using the search button and a few hours reading. There is so much on this already and will tell you everything you need to know on that subject.

You know. All the typing you did to tell me what to do with the search feature. You could of just told me in one sentence why it was voided. I was asking about warranty and we came to the subject about voiding warranty. And not ur telling me how to use a search button?

You're very persistent aren’t you. I'll put this in as few words as possible.

If you f**k with the car, it f**ks with your warranty.

People have had their warranty's voided for switching to a cone filter.
