So my a/c tip broke...
Yea, my a/c slash heater tip broke. It has always been difficult to switch temperatures so during the first Artic cold front I turned it with the regular amount of force and it broke. When I type "tip", I mean what the black knob actually grips onto(the white tip that protrudes outward). It hasn't been too bad since Texas weather fluctuates like no other, but it would be nice to have the heater when it's 40 some degrees outside. I've tried using pliers to turn it to let heat in but that only tore it up even more and now it's stuck in the middle.
How does one actually replace such a thing?

New Mexico weather is quite fickle as well. Dressing in layers is a wise solution.
Anyway, I would also suggest picking one up on EvoM classifieds or the screwlership. Its a cheap part brand new whichever way you go. OR You can get one new at the following link:

I replaced the two levers on the heater box (down by the accelerator pedal). The improvement provided by the redesigned levers, while not as good as also replacing the heater box door, is enough to keep the knob from breaking. The new design levers cost about 15 bux and the heater box doesn’t have to come out. To pull the heater box you first must pull the dash.
So, if you have a early Evo with a heater knob that turns hard, get the new design levers installed and save yourself some grief.
