Do a search my friend, spend a few weeks here reading up on stuff before you start spending money on mods to see what will get you the most power for the $.

like everyone said, search as much and as often as you can. you will learn a ton by just reading as did i.

just so you can get started, no VTA blow off valve. depending on how much boost you will run, if you want the sound go turbosmart or tial, or just stick with the stock 9 bov you should be fine. get a filter (or intake), turboback exhaust, cat delete, boost controller, boost guage, fuel pump and a good tune. that should be plenty to get you started and be not that expensive. gl with the purchase and the modding

You're in NY like me. Basically you can get away with 20% tint on the rear windows and 35% on the driver and passenger side windows. I have all my windows tinted 20% and cops haven't bothered me yet (knock on wood)

wtf are you trying to do with this evo. Make it as ricer as possible complete with window stickers and double sided taped on blower with fender accents. I dont get it. Its a EVO not srt4 Civic etc..... You want to make the car as loud as possible but your worried about window tint and cops pulling you over. If you get your BOV LOUD and EXHAUST loud im sure your gonna get your neighbors upset and you will not like the tickets you will get. there was somebody on here the other day that got a ticket for his loud bov. 480 and some change. you can buy a complete TBE for that price or 2 bovs. The stock one or APS is the way to go for bovs. besides if you did research the hks bov is like one of the worst bovs you could buy. if you like your car idling like crap and stalling by all means go that route least you will be loud and as you drive the the police station to pay your tickets dont complain. IF you want to know about preformace mods to help improve your evo by all means ask around. Tons of people on here that have plenty of knowledge. Great place to learn. I know i been learning alot for sure. iF your concerned about how much rice you can do to it Go to a honda(not all of them) forum plenty of flashy paint jobs and useless mods there. IM DONE.

I have a QTP on my Evo. I love it. I drive with it open most of the time and I would say the biggest problem with it is that it doesn't completely bypass the rear section it just creates a second opening, so as fuel accumulates in the rear section, it eventually hit's a prefect AFR for spontaneous combustion and fires off unexpectedly.

My wife loves the QTP because, well, I can close it. With an HKS Carbon-Ti CBE and the QTP on the Testpipe, it is almost as quiet as stock with it closed. It isn't half as annoying as an SRT-4 with the same cutout oddly, probably due to the rear mounted turbo on the SRT-4 and the shorter distance between the QTP and the turbo exhaust outlet.

The HKS SSQ though, I have a different opinion of. Even with 3 washers behind the spring and a recirculating fitting for it, I was unable to get the thing to stop leaking, in either direction, at only 5psi, even with 20psi boost at the fitting. The only BPV I have of the 4 I have that doesn't leak is the OEM one.

Although search would fill you in on all of this, get a full 3" TBE, LICP, WBo2, Maybe some intake(I'd stay away from the injen, it's popular but heavy), Small battery kit, UICP, ECU Flash or MBC, maybe cams.

I have less than 1500.00 in parts in my car and have more than what I just listed on it. Just shop around in the 1-9 FS section.

/brox
