Buying different bulbs aren't gonna change how the light is projected, it'll change the color/how bright the light will be and that's about it.

The nut that I had pics of changes the low beams. I'm actually unsure of how to change the angle of the high beams, I think my right one is pointed down a little bit and I wanna adjust it. I think I'm gonna go do some poking around right now

The easiest/best way to do it is pull the headlights. On the back you'll see the adjustment with the 10mm socket (for the brights), follow that junkass cable to the low beam adjustment. Disconnect it, remove it, whatever you want. At the low beam adjustment you'll see a hole coming out of the top. Stick a phillips screwdriver down in it. The best screwdriver to use, is the size that you actually have to force into the hole. This will adjust your low beams and is very easily accessible after the lights are back into the car. This way you have independent adjustment of your brights/lows and you don't have to worry about that cable binding.

There's a thread about this around here somewhere with pics and whatnot. Good luck searching for it though. When you pull the lights you'll see what I'm talking about.

i just turned the hell out of that 10mm nut that you posted up in the pic and all that did was adjust my high beams.......which kinda makes sense because it looks like it goes into the high beam housing.....

It does go into the high beam! LOL as I stated earlier, if you just want to adjust the low beam take the screw that holds the other part on and twist the other gear alone. It will move the HID's only. The high beams are usually ok and don't move from road bounce or anything unless you hit something! LOL (knock on wood)

ALSO MAKE SURE THE HEADLIGHTS ARE OFF if you have electronic leveling when you do the actual adjustment..

Mine was a pain to twist also, I had to spray Wiley Dean (WD-40) in the end of the cable and where ever I could get it and work it back and forth to finally get it to twist. I'll be back in NC around Sunday (in TN with my son this week), if you need any help I would be glad to give you a hand when I get back.

I made all my adjustments with the lights on but this was on my 05 VIII so maybe yours is different. I was more worried about killing my battery then auto leveling adjustment. seemed to work fine for me.

How the light is projected is irrelevant when considering brighter bulbs. Of course it will change the color and how bright the bulb will be, but brighter bulbs mean better illumination. The whole point is to be able to see better at night!

There is a harness that connects the highbeams to the low beams when adjusting the gears, in order to make easy adjustments to my preference I just removed the harness from both headlights so that I could adjust my beams individually, just a thought (I suggest this only to non in-cabin leveling evos)

Is there anyway of installing the motor to adjust the leveling from inside the cabin?
