Wow I never realized there was a difference in the seats between the VIII and the IX besides the obvious difference in upholstery. I have sat in a couple of IX's and I sit in my leather VIII seat almost everyday and have never really noticed a difference. I guess I will need to pay attention a little more next time and see if I can feel a difference.

Is there actually any hard evidence in the seats being different? Couldn't theoretically they just feel different from being broken in by different body types?

Seats..seats..seats...

I just think the quality of the stitching and the ablility to clean the evo9 seats are better. One other aspect, I know this isnt a "family car", but I cant get around I have an 11 month old and if I need to twist around to reach her, its much easier in the evo9 seats than the evo 8. They are wider. Well seems that way. lol. Anyone ever measured. Give me a day I have one of each side by side and I will do the measurements.

The driver's seat in my Evo 8 actually cracked --- somewhere within the back support. You could get the plastic to seperate within the seat and pop if you had to reach in the back to get something, and yes, I'm 6'3" and about 240. My Evo 9 seats are optimal, and have had no such issues. I guess they addressed any weaknesses in the supports between? Maybe I'm just lucky.

VIII seats by far are comfortable and the real deal racing seat, 9 seats were just made for the heavy set wider american guys

I'd like to see if any IX guys managed to break their seats yet. Seemed like the VIII's just went out on almost everyone on the inner side.
