does evo have or can it get CRUISE CONTROL??

Looking at a new car and my current car doesnt have cruise and i told myself, my next car has to have cruise control or i am not getting it. Ive done some research and some sites say Yeah and some say Ney. So for all of you that have the EVO, DOES IT HAVE CRUISE CONTROL? and if it doesnt, is it a possible modification?
Thanks for your time and I look forward for some positive feedback.

Sorry, no Cruise Control.

I wanted it too...but I don't miss it much in this car.

As for aftermarkets...dunno. If there isn't now, I'm sure there will be sometime soon. It seems to be something a lot of folks complain about.

Consider you driving a manual shift car. Why need the cruise control ?

Unless you get a car with automatic transmission, I see no real use of cruise control.

Why not cruise control in a manual? All you do is put it in 5th, switch it on, and...

CRUUUUISE!

My Eclipse had it (and I'm sure it still does, I just don't own the car anymore...LOL)!

It was a five speed, and the cruise control worked like a charm...

even OZ's have CC...well it's really useful when driving on the freeway alone in the middle of the night...
set it up @ 65MPH and no cop could give u a ****ing prb...

but other than that, I don't really use CC's that much..who uses CC's for canyon runs or autoX???

Yeah cruise control would be great! Obviously we all love to drive, being evo owners and all. But I drive 25 miles to work each way on an interstate filled with cops. CC here would be great. And CC on 5-speeds is just as normal as on an auto. There has to be some way to add this on, anyone have any ideas?

Cruise is easily added. There are shops that sell and install the complete kits for $200-300.

Yeah, I'm getting it put in this week. After two speeding tickets, I need it.

If you lived in a dense city such as Boston, you will rarely use the function. Even on the highway. Once you shift to 5th gear, some slower traffic will block your path.

Even when I travel from Boston down to NYC, I rarely use it since the traffic is heavy most of the time. I might get to use it if I head North.

For me, cruise control may not be useful.

I would kind of like it, because I drive WAY TOO FAST in this car when commuting. For some reason, 88-95mph just feels right. I need to stop that crap. My radar detector might let me down someday.

Any thoughts on retrofitting the OEM CC from the OZ Lancer to the Evo?

I had one installed on my EVO two days after I got it, I have a 140 mile round trip commute to work each day and without I would have a major stack of speeding tickets.

The system used on regular lancers is a vaccum system and will not work on the EVO, at least according to my dealerships service manager, they recommended a place to get one installed.

I've since upgraded the stalk, but haven't taking pictures yet.

Here's the original post: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...threadid=26560

My driver's license thanks me ever day for getting it installed.
