Evo VII in high speed handling comparison
I was actually suprised myself that subi actually didn't make it. One would think that with all the press they had been getting we would have seen one out there with the Evo.
Its talked about the about the Viper, S2000, etc getting axed on the second page (p. 56).

I went out and purchased the mag because of this thread.
They put those cars through a hell of a track test. And 8 different guys tested the 8 cars (not just one jackass). Go out and get yourself a copy.
The Evo performed remarkably with cars that have 200 more HP and cost over $100,000 more.
Check it out.

Not in the same league
The high-end, high-dollar sports cars can outperform the Evo on a track.
Yes, the Ferrari can whip high-speed corners like a cat...the Lotus Elise is not very expensive (I think it was under 40K) and handled better in cornering...and the 911 turbo did as well.
Soooooo WHAT!!!!
Picture: Ferrari 360 Modena launching onto the mud-rutted gravel-and-rock strewn, all-terrain surface. Bouncing, lurching and leaping over ups and downs...clamboring over the rugged terrain like a ....wait, what's this?...it's stuck?...running crappy?...needs a few thousand dollars of work done to it? Oh WHY did I ever leave the pristine roadway?!?
I must've been listening to that ONE passenger who could come with me. Better get the tools out of the trunk....I mean engine compartment.
Where the hell do you store anything?!? I can't even pick someone up at the airport unless they travelled with a carry-on ONLY...and, of COURSE, ALONE!!! I wish I hadn't spent SIX figures on this now...I think I'll just sell it...for about FIVE figures. But then, it IS an investment and will appreciate in time (like 20 years) if I just baby it and leave it in the garage ALL THE TIME!!!
Lotus Elise Has a radio. Nothing else. Sorry, a glove box would've added too much weight.
Cute with the top down...cute like a convertible Austin Mini. It corners GREAT!!! 'cause when the whole thing weighs about what you do...it doesn't take much to change direction. Not all-wheel drive...not going to be able to go offroad...forget the amenities completely...and be careful how big your ONE passenger is...the added weight is liable to slow you WAY down and eliminate the edge in cornering that you once had. Kinda feels a bit skimpy in a wreck too
...like a motorcycle with a sidecar...Fred Flinstone suspension.
Porsche 911 turbo : What a machine!!
Really spiffy to put the suitcase in the front!! Handles like a DREAM on dry asphalt as WELL as on snow and gravel...On asphalt it corners incredibly!...on snow, gravel, rain...it floats across the surface spinning with no direction...just like a dream! No back seat. But that's OK...you spent 6 figures on the most expensive Volkswagen bug ever made. And hey!! the IMAGE...I mean, maybe I'm the only one...maybe it's just me...but it sure seems that every time you see a porsche, it's driven by a middle-aged, recently divorced guy with a gold pendant hanging gracefully over his gray chest hair which flows from his unbuttoned shirt...just picked up his girlfiend from the plastic surgeon's office...and is going to spend nearly as much on maintenance and repairs as he did on the hookers in Las Vegas. But the lack of extra room in the car isn't a problem because he hasn't spent any time with his kids ANYWAY since he left his family and bought the Porsche 4 days after he turned 50.
Of course the interior amenities...well...ok, it DOES have a glove box.
So now we come down to the lowly Evolution. Poor sot who has to drive that "sporty" 4-door sedan. I'll bet he wishes that he could accelerate like my.....WHAT THE ??????!!!!!???? What the hell IS that?!?
Wait a minute!!! He's faster than I am!!! And he has all those PEOPLE in there TOO!! He musta had to pick 'em up at the airport...they probably had LUGGAGE and everything...and it's not sliding in the snow..and he can go offroad better than most SUV's...but won't roll...probably drives that thing around all year though, 'cause he doesn't have a separate car for winter. Probably didn't spend more than about 40 thousand on it and he'll have to go completely without an elitist status symbol for YEARS 'cause it won't break down all the time for him so he'll end up driving it for a hundred thousand miles and then some.
And then come all the major Sports cars like the S2000, the Z06, the Muscle-mustang, the Audis and the Beamers...where are THEY!?!...Falling short of the Evo even on their PRISTINE asphalt?
Doesn't seem to me like the cars that can out-handle the Evo on a track are even in the same league.

Whoa MyCre8n=Evlshn... WOW, you must only see three red diamonds everywhere you look. You have got to be one of the most EVO dedicated people I have seen here. Don't get me wrong but some of those cars mentioned are awesome in thier own right. For example the Z06 and Lotus Elise. I love it when people compare cars and leave out the most important component, driver. Tell you what, put yourself in a EVO and Tommi will take the A4 quattro. Now what car sucks? I must commend your Mitsu loyality though. A couple of weeks ago I drove a 125cc shifter cart, and now all cars suck compared to performance and grin factor. Now, if I could just make it street legal, which by the way seems sometime more possible than Mitsu telling us what the EVO specs will be. Another day! Ugh...

Ignorance? Were you refering to me?!
See...that was a fun cheer for the Evo....which I think is amazing to keep pace with a field of machines such as those...all of the blah, blah, blah was for ENTERTAINMENT and LAUGHS.
Who's ignorant?
By the way....yes to the driver issue...that's 50% of the equation...unless it's me in an Evo and Tommi in an Audi A4...then it's 97% of the equation 'cause I have no idea how to drive like that. I just like the fact that my Evo's going to go offroad and all the others at the top of that list aren't. That was my point...in case someone forgot to laugh and took everything a bit too literally.
A Ferrari and a Mitsubishi are not in the same class...and it's NOT because the Mitsubishi is outshining the Ferrari!!!! I think everyone else understands this.
You still only have 2 seats though

I am glad to hear you say that your EVO will be going off road also. I love the fact that 95% of all SUV owners never take them off road because it might ruin their paint or shine. EVO made for off road? Yeap. I hope you and I can go out sometime and flog the be-jesus out of our Mitsu SUVs. See the "S" really stands for sport, not sucks.
We will go out and practice our Scandinavian flick techniques. Tommi style!
