Never tried it. Why not just shut them off before you get out?

If the driver's door is shut when the engine turns off, they will stay on for a bit. If the door is open, they shut off immediately.

There is an auto-shut off feature for EVO headlights. The light should stay on for about 3min then shut off on their own. If you have a TT the headlight should shut off about 3min after the car.

Jamdown, just make it part of your routine to turn the lights off manually when you are getting out of the car. I am used to parking in gear, so with the TT I have to think a little bit more about taking that key out of the ignition (making sure I'm in neutral). This in turn makes me think about turning off electronics like the radio/lights/etc.

It's easier on your car to start without any extra electrical load anyhow, so just do it!

It depends on how you have it wired really. My apexi shuts everything off everything but the motor, but my friend wired his so on his car, it lets all the accessories run until the car turns off.

I'm with webguy I just turn my lights off myself....thats what I have always been doing for years now before the TT so it is more like habit.
